Tuesday morning, a subway thief from New York City was murdered after leaping between vehicles and landing on an electric line.
Around 5.30 in the morning, four heinous robbers in the Bronx held a 46-year-old passenger at gunpoint hostage on the number two train at E 174th Street before fleeing, according to police. The escape strategy promptly went awry.
One of the suspects tried to leap between the railway cars but failed, landing under the train and dying as a result.
The other three suspects, who were 16–18 years old, were intercepted by police as they arrived at the 180th Street station on the number 5 train. Police tased one suspect for resisting arrest, and he had to be transferred to a nearby hospital.
As the corpse was removed, services along the railway lines were briefly suspended.
Charges against the accused have not yet been made public by the police, and the dead have not been named.

The early morning subway robbery is no surprise to city-dwellers as overall crime is up a dramatic 35.31 percent since last year.
Approximately 11,737 robberies have been reported as of September 4 – about 3,318 more in comparison to the same time last year.
Meanwhile, 10,500 burglaries have been reported, which is about 2,600 more than in 2021.
Felony assaults are also up by 18.2 percent, with grand larceny leading the way in the uptick of crime with more than 10,000 cases reported in comparison to last year.

Subway riders are well aware of the bizarre scenes that occur underground, from violent assaults to robberies.
Earlier this year in May, a woman riding the subway was assaulted by as other riders ignored her plea for help.
The suspect wearing black leggings and white sneakers, stormed around the train while screaming expletives. After the suspect took a seat, others rushed to leave the area.
As one female passenger, closest to the hoodlum, tries to flee, he grabs her and terrorizes the victim.
The bandit is seen in the video grabbing hold of the woman’s hair while pushing her down into the seat.
The victim is visibly distraught and crying out: ‘Help! Help!’ as other riders ignore her pleas, as the disturbing scene plays out.
Moments later, the vandal screams to the woman, ‘Get Up!’ before shoving her to another area of the subway car, and walking away.
