Still M.T.G.

Conservative stalwart Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene attempted to energize her supporters for the new Republican House majority on Monday by tweeting a video of herself confidently striding through the hallways of Congress to the tune of Dr. Dre’s 1999 single “Still D.R.E.”

“It is time to start… And they can’t stop what’s coming,” wrote the Georgia Republican who was instrumental in Rep. Kevin McCarthy’s victory in 15 rounds of voting early Saturday morning.

The video also depicts Greene on the phone with former President Donald Trump and McCarthy posing for a photo only moments after McCarthy secured the required number of votes to become speaker.

Dr. Dre was displeased.

According to his statement to TMZ, he does not license his music to politicians, “especially someone as divisive and hateful as this one.”

Greene’s about two-minute-long video begins with a shot of the United States Capitol, then transitions to a sign outside her office that reads “There are two genders: Male & Female ‘Trust the Science!’” before she exits her office.

At this point, the music begins to play.

The camera follows Greene as she joyfully claps her hands and interacts with what appear to be congressional staff members.

Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene uploaded a video of the U.S. Capitol to Twitter on Monday, which depicts the building.

Later, the video transitions to black-and-white and a voice can be heard saying, “She held up her phone, and on the phone it said DT,” before showing McCarthy being applauded by the Republican conference as the final vote for speaker was cast.

“Marjorie Taylor Greene rushed down the aisle to take a selfie with Kevin McCarthy, which may have been his first act as speaker,” a video voice adds as a beaming McCarthy opens his acceptance speech by slamming the gavel.

Greene was frequently shown sitting next to McCarthy during votes for speaker, thereby ascending from a marginal player who had been removed from committee assignments to the apex of political power.

The lyrics of Dr. Dre and Snoop Dogg’s classic were omitted from the video, but they speak to her political rebirth.

The phrases read, “And even when I was close to defeat/I rose to my feet/My life is a soundtrack/I wrote to the beat.”

They continue, “I bring the fire until you’re drenched in your seat/not It’s a fluke, it’s been tested, I’m the truth.”

A number of Twitter users were left perplexed.

“I’ve always said that Marj is a weirdo and a con artist. Fred Guttenberg, who lost his daughter Jaime in the 2018 school massacre in Parkland, Florida, commented on Twitter: “While this video is funny, your nonstop efforts to demonstrate your hatred for democracy are not.”

“Whatever the meaning of your bizarre statement, you will always be a freak and a fraud,” he said.

Influence of the left-wing JoJoFromJerk stated that the video made her laugh out loud.

“HAHAHAHAHAHAHA THIS IS Genuine?!?! I AM SCREAMING WITH LAUGHTER TO THE EXTENT THAT I CANNOT BREATHE!!! YOU MAKE ME LAUGH, MARGE. If this were Saturday Night Live, no one would notice the difference. “BRAVO!” she wrote in all capital letters.

Greene’s video reminded author John A. Daly of characters from “The Office.”

” This is similar to a Michael/Dwight video,” he tweeted, referencing the roles portrayed by Steve Carell and Rainn Wilson.
