Police say a man was struck and killed by a subway train on Christmas Day in Queens after he jumped across the tracks to grab his phone.

Just after 11:30 p.m., while standing on the northbound platform at the Jackson Heights – Roosevelt Avenue station, the 46-year-old straphanger dropped his cell phone onto the roadbed.

According to authorities, he jumped off the platform to retrieve the phone but was unable to return before a northbound F train barreled into the station.

According to police, he was pronounced dead at the spot after being struck by the train.

The police have not disclosed his identification until they notify his relatives.

Before the man was struck by the F train in Queens, another man was discovered dead on the L train in Brooklyn about an hour beforehand.

Still seated erect on a bench inside the train, the man’s body was discovered as the subway vehicle came into Rockaway Parkway station, the final stop on the Canarsie line.

The police stated there were no evidence of trauma and they have no criminal suspicions.
