According to police, a 32-year-old man from Pennsylvania, Paddy Patrick Purcell, was arrested after he allegedly entered the home of a 9-year-old girl and climbed into her bed wearing only his underwear.
The incident occurred early in the morning on Sunday, when the girl woke up and discovered the half-naked stranger lying next to her.
The girl immediately ran to her father, who found Purcell sitting on the bed wrapped in a blanket.
The father called the police, and the little girl later told them that Purcell had touched her inappropriately.
Purcell fled the scene before the police arrived, but he was located a short time later in his apartment nearby. Authorities believe he entered the home through an unlocked door.
During the investigation, police found a jacket and keys belonging to Purcell with his name on them at the scene.
The girl’s father did not know Purcell, but he described him as a white male with red hair and an Irish accent.
Purcell was charged with burglary, criminal trespass, and indecent assault of a child under 13 years old.
He is currently being held on a $1 million bond at the Bucks County Correctional Facility.
