Transperson receives a criminal assault by physical contact citation after allegedly physically attacked a 17-year-old girl

The father of a Texas teen cheerleader who was allegedly assaulted by a transgender teammate alleges the attack on his daughter was edited out of the social media video of the altercation to match the attacker’s “story.”

Jones (pictured above) says he received a call at 1 a.m. from his daughter claiming they had locked themselves in a room with other girls as another person attempted to fight them

Please provide the entire video, not just the portion that has been altered to fit your story! In a contentious Facebook post on July 26, Mike Jones wrote.

I simply want to know when this person will take responsibility for their actions as we wait for these investigations to be finished! And quit attempting to wreck our lives!

Averie Chanel Medlock, 25, shared a four-minute video on Facebook after being expelled from the Ranger College cheerleading camp for reportedly choked out a teammate who she claims made transphobic statements to her and was only given by her first name, Karleigh.

The entire time the video is being recorded, a group of girls are seen cowering behind a closed door, which Medlock and her posse hastily confront. Jones asserts that this is simply the tip of what actually occurred.

Medlock allegedly choked out a teammate named Karleigh who she said was making transphobic remarks that she shouldn't be allowed on the team

Jones stated on Facebook, “I’m sure all the other tapes will be published after the title IX inquiry, which will also prove that you posted in altered version to show your narrative.”

In the footage, Medlock can be heard saying “I need to say something” as she knocks on a door.

Why am I unable to speak in front of you all? Why do you fear that?

The incident was captured on camera, and Medlock posted it online with the statement, “This is video evidence that I did not abuse her…

Her father is spreading the rumour that I choked her out and caused her to pass out, even though it was obvious that I couldn’t enter the room to even touch her.

Jones alleges that the family is waiting for the release of security camera footage to reveal the full depth of the altercation. He asserts that Medlock removed the violent assault from the footage.

Additionally, he said that Medlock had previously denied being physical and instead claimed she was merely playing with his kid.

Jones posed the following question on Facebook: “I ask what you would have done when receiving a call from your daughter at 1 in the morning stating they had locked themselves in the room with other girls, after this person said You want to fight, and proceeded to put their hands around my daughters neck.”

Medlock can be heard speaking to the group of girls in the video while just the words “You’re a guy” and “You have a penis” can be heard coming through the door.

“If someone has a problem, come confront it to my face like an adult,” Medlock is heard saying. Then she can be heard saying, “I hardly touched Karleigh,” and “just joking.”

The assertion by Medlock conflicts with one she made on Facebook, in which she denied assaulting the 17-year-old.

There’s no beef between me and you, Medlock said as the females remained hidden behind the door.

I apologise for upsetting you and for giving you anxiety and fear. I would never want to hurt you like that. Don’t f*** with me, though; I won’t f*** with you. A pleasant night to you.

After allegedly attacking Karleigh, Medlock was issued a criminal assault by physical contact citation last week.

Karleigh and her teammates claim they went into hiding in the locker room to avoid Medlock, who claims she was made fun of for being a woman and dubbed “a man with a penis.”

Following the arrival of police and Mike Jones, the father of Karleigh, Medlock was led away from the school.

“I have to wonder where does that leave them when a person like this cries wolf whether it be race, gender, sexual assault, or anyone who legitimately needs their voice heard?”

A female on the team was acting very disrespectfully and told me I am a MAN with a PENIS and that [men] shouldn’t be on the team,’ Medlock said in a Facebook post that she uploaded last week. “Well guys I’m officially retired as a cheerleader as of last night at 5:30 AM,” she continued.

“I stuck up for myself, which made her call her parents because she was afraid,” she said. She still has testosterone and a penis, and her father vowed, “I would murder anyone who comes after my daughter.”

Since then, Medlock’s post has been taken down.

Speaking to KTAB and KRBC, Medlock stated that Jones and Karleigh were the ones who initiated the issues and that she was being singled out for criticism due to her gender.

“They were aware that I am trans. They were aware that I stood out from the other girls.

Before her father showed up and caused a scene, it wasn’t a huge problem, she claimed.

Because of the dad’s perceptions about what occurred, I was dismissed from the team.

A copy of the citation and a call to the Eastland County District Attorney’s Office revealed it was for unwelcome touching, despite Medlock claiming repeatedly throughout their conversation that the citation she received was only for assault.

The cheerleader is heard berating teammates for making transphobic remarks in the footage of the altercation that Medlock released, which is primarily audio.

She may also be heard denying any contact with Karleigh and telling the teammates that she “barely touched” her.

Medlock yells at one of the ladies who is imprisoned in the room, “B***h come outside then.”

The woman replies, “You’re a male.” The female in the room says, “You have a penis,” in response to Medlock’s declaration that she is a girl.

Asserting that it “takes all complaints of this sort seriously and is committed to providing a learning environment free from prejudice,” Ranger College said the school was starting a Title IX investigation into the event.

According to the institution, “Ranger College is currently complying with all applicable Title IX requirements and Board Policies.”

After UPenn swimmer Lia Thomas broke swimming records to win the NCAA Division 1 women’s national championship, the issue of transgender individuals in sports became a topic of intense national controversy.

Thomas, who swam on the UPenn men’s swim team from 2017 to 2020 despite being born a woman, underwent a gender transition in 2021 and started swimming – and winning medals – with the women’s team.
