Man arrested on suspicion of murder after a woman was found dead in Blackburn

A woman was found dead in a Blackburn property, and a 30-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of murder.

Lancashire Police received reports of a “serious assault” at around 7.55pm on Saturday evening, prompting officers to investigate the Mill Hill area.

They discovered the woman’s body at the address and took the suspect into custody for questioning.

A spokesperson for the force confirmed the tragic incident, stating that the woman’s next of kin had been informed and were receiving support from specially-trained officers. An investigation into the murder has been launched, and the suspect remains in police custody.

The police have made it clear that they are not searching for anyone else in connection with the woman’s death.

The incident has left the local community shocked and saddened, and the police are urging anyone with information to come forward and help with their inquiries.

The identity of the victim has not been released, and further details about the case are yet to emerge.
