Police in Limpopo confirmed on Saturday that a 38-year-old man killed his ex-girlfriend and her 11-year-old daughter before shooting himself. The man was identified as Muzi Ndlovu.
He allegedly went to Carmen Cloete’s house in Leana Hof, Bela-Bela and shot both her and her daughter before turning the gun on himself. According to reports, Ndlovu did not say anything before firing several shots at the victims.
When police arrived at the scene, all three had already died, as confirmed by paramedics. Ndlovu had reportedly stolen his friend’s gun, and the police are investigating the theft and possession of an unlicensed firearm.
Provincial Commissioner Lieutenant General Thembi Hadebe said they were saddened by the loss of life. Limpopo police spokesperson Brigadier Motlafela Mojapelo urged people experiencing relationship challenges to seek assistance and desist from resorting to extreme violence.
