The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has disclosed that it has concluded plans to ensure a hitch-free supplementary election for Takum/Donga/Ussa federal constituency in Taraba State.

The Resident Electoral Commissioner, Umar Mukhtar Gajiram, made the announcement on Friday during an interview with Daily Post in Jalingo.

The supplementary election is slated for Saturday, 14th April, and will take place in some polling units in the affected councils.

Inconclusive results from polling units in the three local government councils during the just concluded elections necessitated the decision of the Commission to conduct a supplementary election.

Areas where the rerun is to be conducted include Chanchanji, Rogo, Fete, Shibong Wards of Takum and Lissam, Kwesati and Kwambai Wards of Ussa Local Government Areas of the state.

Well-trained INEC Ad-hoc staff with sensitive materials have been deployed to the affected areas to ensure the successful conduct of the election.

The All Progressives Congress (APC), the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), and the New Nigerian Peoples Party (NNPP) are the three registered political parties that will participate in the exercise.
