Igbo Community Cultural Event Abruptly Shut Down in the US, Calls for Nnamdi Kanu’s Release Continue

Amidst chaos, the Igbo community in the United States faced an abrupt shutdown of their cultural event, leaving attendees shocked and disappointed.

According to a video obtained by LIB, a participant revealed that the organizers of the Mbaise community event had paid a substantial sum of over $92,000 to secure the Westin Hotel in Irvine, Texas.

However, the hotel management called the police and ordered the event to be shut down, creating an embarrassing situation for the Mbaise community and Nigerians as a whole.

Rita Edochie Appeals for Nnamdi Kanu’s Release

In a separate development, veteran Nollywood actress, Rita Edochie, has joined the calls for the release of Nnamdi Kanu, the leader of the proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB).

With a history of expressing support for the secessionist group, Edochie took to her Instagram page to make a plea to President Bola Ahmad-led administration amidst the growing unrest in the South East region of Nigeria.

Growing Unrest and Calls for Release

Highlighting the unrest in the Southwest, the 55-year-old actress shared a video featuring various supporters of Nnamdi Kanu, who echoed the demand for his release.

Edochie firmly believes that once Kanu is freed, the history of unrest in the Southeast region will be resolved.

Expressing her frustration, she directed curses towards the ‘elites’ involved in the prolonged detainment of the IPOB leader.
