IPOB’s Displeasure and Concern

The Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) has strongly criticized the United Nations (UN), the European Union (EU), the African Union (AU), and the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) for their silence regarding the detention of their leader, Nnamdi Kanu.

In a statement signed by the group’s media and publicity secretary, Emma Powerful, IPOB expressed its dissatisfaction with the international community’s lack of action as Kanu’s health deteriorates in government custody, despite both the UN and Nigerian court ordering his release.

Silent International Community

IPOB finds it unfortunate that the international community has remained silent on the issue of Nnamdi Kanu.

The group believes that the continuous silence of the UN, EU, AU, and ECOWAS regarding Kanu’s detention is deeply disappointing.

They argue that Nigeria is blatantly disregarding both local and international laws pertaining to the unconditional release of their leader, and it is disheartening to witness the lack of response from the international community.

Allegations and Conspiracy Theories

According to IPOB, there are concerns that the Nigerian government intends for Nnamdi Kanu to die in detention.

They go further to suggest that the Department of State Services (DSS) may have administered a slow-acting poison to him, resulting in his deteriorating health.

IPOB firmly believes that this deteriorating health condition is part of a conspiracy to end Kanu’s life.

Despite these alarming allegations, the Nigeria Supreme Court and Constitutional Court have refused to address Kanu’s appeal regarding his health, further exacerbating the situation.

International Silence and Human Rights Abuses

IPOB observes a disturbing silence among international organizations and human rights groups in response to the human rights abuses and court infringements committed against their leader, Nnamdi Kanu.

The group finds it deeply concerning that despite the continuous deterioration of Kanu’s health and the Nigerian government’s refusal to comply with lawful orders, there has been no significant international intervention or condemnation.

IPOB’s Determination to Act

As Nnamdi Kanu’s health continues to decline and the Nigerian government persists in defying lawful orders, IPOB vows to do everything in its power to prevent their leader from dying in detention.

The group remains resolute in its mission to ensure justice for Kanu and to hold accountable those responsible for his illegal and unlawful detention.
