Nollywood Actress Rita Edochie Urges President Buhari to Release Nnamdi Kanu, Citing South East Unrest

Veteran Nollywood actress Rita Edochie has openly appealed to President Bola Ahmad, who leads the current administration, to release Nnamdi Kanu, the leader of the proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB).

Edochie, known for her support of the secessionist group, took to her Instagram page to make this plea in light of the escalating unrest in the South East region of Nigeria.

Supporters’ Calls for Nnamdi Kanu’s Release

In response to the growing unrest in the South East, the 55-year-old actress shared a video on her Instagram page that featured various individuals expressing their support for the release of Nnamdi Kanu.

Edochie emphasized that once Kanu is released, the history of unrest in the Southeast region will come to an end.

Additionally, she directed curses towards the “elites” who have played a role in keeping the IPOB leader detained.

Rita Edochie Condemns Elite Involvement and Issues a Warning

Expressing her frustrations, Edochie strongly condemned the “elites” responsible for prolonging Nnamdi Kanu’s detention and manipulating the lives of other people’s children while their own offspring reside overseas.

She warned these individuals that if they are complicit in such actions, their future generations will never know peace.

In her own words:

“Release Mazi Nnamdi Okwu Kanu today and see the unrest in the South East become history.

Stop playing with people’s lives, especially all you elites.

That your children are overseas and you are using other people’s children to create unrest.

If you are one of them, your generation and the generations to come will never know peace.”

These statements by Rita Edochie reflect her strong belief in the release of Nnamdi Kanu and her condemnation of those she perceives as responsible for perpetuating the unrest in the South East region.
