In a surprising turn of events, an ice cream van driver found himself in trouble with the law in Devizes, Wiltshire. Mariusz Kekus, a 40-year-old resident of Mascroft Road, Trowbridge, was stopped by the police for a seemingly minor offense – not wearing a seatbelt. However, what followed was even more concerning.

After pulling over the ice cream van on Hopton Industrial Estate in Devizes, Wiltshire Police conducted a breathalyzer test on the driver, Mariusz Kekus. The results of this roadside test were shocking – Kekus was found to have 90 micrograms (mcg) of alcohol per 100 milliliters of breath. This measurement was more than twice the legal drink drive limit in the UK, which stipulates that drivers should not be in control of a vehicle with more than 35 mcg of alcohol per 100 ml of breath.

In light of these findings, Kekus was charged with two offenses: drink driving and driving without wearing a seatbelt. He is scheduled to appear at Salisbury Magistrates’ Court on September 29 to address these charges.
