Hollywood actors Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney, owners of Wrexham FC since 2021, have taken a hands-on approach to their ownership of the Welsh football club.
Reynolds, in particular, has been very vocal about his role in the club and has been frequently turning up at the Racecourse for matches.
In fact, he even posed for pictures with his family on the pitch before a game against York last month.
There are also reports that Reynolds has bought a £1.5m property in the area, indicating a more permanent presence in the community.
Reynolds and McElhenney have also been enjoying some downtime at the luxurious Carden Park estate in Cheshire, around 10 miles from the club’s ground.
The estate boasts top-class sporting facilities, including a full-sized football pitch that was even used by Sweden’s national women’s team and Uefa during last year’s Women’s Euros.
There are also two championship golf courses, one of which was designed by 18-time major winner Jack Nicklaus and his son Steve.
If reports are accurate, Reynolds will soon have a base in Marford, a few miles from the Racecourse.
Marford has a population of around 2,500 people and offers a quieter pace of life than Reynolds’ usual home in New York.
The village has just two pubs and a Co-op supermarket, and the greatest attraction is a disused quarry that has become an important nature reserve.
Properties in the area are quite pricey, with an overall average price of £479,600 over the last year, and detached properties selling for an average price of £528,857.
It’s clear that Reynolds and McElhenney are taking their ownership of Wrexham FC seriously and are making an effort to become part of the local community.
Their presence has been well-received by fans, and it seems they are enjoying their time in Wales.
