Miller said Reynolds emailed him and the two “Deadpool” co-stars “immediately worked it out” after news outlets picked up a story he told last week about an event that occurred on the set of their film.
Miller stated on the audio episode of “The Adam Carolla Show” on October 5: “I find it odd that he hates me.”
On Wednesday, a SiriusXM interview with Miller titled “TJ Miller Makes Up With Ryan Reynolds” was published. Miller states in a two-minute film that he received an email from Reynolds the day after the podcast episode went viral.
Miller stated, “It was quite wonderful that he emailed me the next day to apologize for the misunderstanding.” So I responded to his email and now everything is good.
Miller went on to say that he hadn’t anticipated a response because he “wasn’t thinking” about the “repercussions” of his anecdote about an odd memory from set. Miller maintained that Reynolds is hilarious and fantastic in the “Deadpool” films, but that none of these comments appeared in the media coverage.
Because this is clickbait, Miller explained. “That is very unfortunate.”
Miller stated that Reynolds was “very cool about it” and a “decent person.”
“It was extremely cool of him to say, ‘Hey, I heard you were upset about this,’” recalled Miller of Reynolds. “I responded, ‘I’m not,’ and we swiftly resolved the issue.”
Miller was questioned by SiriusXM cohost Jim Norton if he felt awful about the stories claiming Reynolds was “horrendously” nasty on set. Miller stated that he felt horrible that it was “picked up and misunderstood” because he did not believe he had said anything so harsh.
Miller stated on last week’s podcast episode of “The Adam Carolla Show” that he would not work with Reynolds again.
“On ‘Deadpool,’ there was a bizarre moment when he said, ‘Let’s do one more take.’ Then, like the character, he was incredibly cruel to me as if I were Weasel “The comic was generous. “Therefore, he said, “You know what’s fantastic about you, Weasel? You’re not the main character, but you do just enough exposition to make it amusing, and then we can return to the main film.’”
Deadpool was produced by 20th Century Fox.
According to Pauline Villegas of Insider, “while Miller did not confirm it, the ‘Silicon Valley’ actor suggested he was not asked to reprise his role in the next installment of the ‘Deadpool’ franchise.”
Miller would not have been removed from a franchise for the first time. In 2019, “How to Train Your Dragon” director Dead DeBlois told Insider that Miller’s performance was replaced in the middle of production after allegations of a sexual assault claim and an arrest on charges of making a false bomb threat.
