The accused man of a Gold Coast Titans cheerleader faces a new charge.

A fresh, unrelated charge relates to the alleged indecent abuse of a 14-year-old girl.

Police nabbed Dan Shearin, now known as Jayden Moorea, last week.

The man accused of killing a blind Gold Coast Titans cheerleader nearly a decade ago is now accused of indecently treating a 14-year-old girl.

Police arrested Dan Shearin, now known as Jayden Moorea, last week and searched his home in the Gold Coast suburb of Nerang.

Additionally, officers seized a number of electronic devices allegedly belonging to him.

Moorea, 48, appeared from the cells on Tuesday, pleading for his release in connection with the alleged indecent treatment of the adolescent girl, but bail was denied.

In a separate instance, Moorea was charged in 2021 with the January 2013 murder of his girlfriend Breeana Robinson, a case that has not yet gone to trial.

Almost ten years ago, Jayden Moorea (shown right), once known as Dan Shearin, is accused of murdering his girlfriend Breeana Robinson (pictured left).

The request by Moorea’s attorney to close the court owing to the sensitivity of his most recent charge was denied.

The former cruise ship singer was reported to have exchanged sexually explicit conversations with a teenage girl over the internet.

On January 29, 2013, when Ms. Robinson fell 11 stories from Moorea’s luxurious condominium in Southport, on the Gold Coast, authorities initially deemed it a suicide.

A comprehensive investigation was not launched until 2017.

Five years after Ms. Robinson’s death, authorities interviewed neighbors, who offered conflicting stories of how she fell, a court previously heard.

On the eighth anniversary of Ms. Robinson’s death, her family was present at Southport Magistrates Court in January 2021 as Magistrate Catherine Pirie declared the matter would move to a jury.

Former neighbor Julie Carroll, who was watching a movie in her 11th-floor apartment on the night of the disaster, reported hearing screams and sobs.

She told the court that she could hear a man yelling loudly and a lady crying, and that the voices grew louder.

She testified that she did not see Ms. Robinson, but that she heard a ‘high-pitched scream’ that abruptly ceased shortly after the argument subsided.

Dr. Rebecca Adams, who lived a few floors above the couple, believed someone had been struck by a car when she heard a loud bang and thump.

When she and numerous others glanced over the balcony, they noticed blood pooling around Ms. Robinson’s head.

Lisa Dunscombe, the couple’s next-door neighbor, maintained she did not hear any arguing but did hear a thump and a’release of breath’ while sitting in her apartment.

She told the court, “Because it was an unfamiliar sound, I stepped outside to check… it was not a typical traffic noise.”

Ms. Dunscombe initially believed the body of the young woman to be a mannequin, as if someone were performing a cruel joke.

She added that Moorea appeared distressed upon entering the elevator, as he struggled to button his pants and use his phone.

Tuesday, after Moorea was denied bail for the alleged improper treatment of a 14-year-old girl, Ms. Robinson’s aunt Janine Mackney told 7News, ‘It’s been almost a decade, and we still don’t have a court date.

The only good news is that he is currently in detention and will remain there for some time.

Moorea is now committed to stand trial for the death of Ms. Robinson, but his attorney Chris Hannay is reportedly in negotiations with authorities to have the murder charge withdrawn.

The Daily Mail Australia has reached out to Mr. Hannay for additional information.

In January 2013, Breeana Robinson, 21, died after falling 11 stories from the Gold Coast luxury condominium of her boyfriend, Jayden Moorea.

Moorea has always maintained his innocence in regards to Ms. Robinson’s death, and even released a book titled The Blame Game under his former identity, Dan Shearin.

In the book, he referred to Ms. Robinson as Bree and stated that his initial impression of her was that she was “a pretty blonde lady with a cheeky smile, and her beautiful personality leapt out of the computer at me.”

When he learned that Ms. Robinson was legally blind, he said, “my heart melted like never before.”
