Gayle King says Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are headed to L.A.

According to the Duchess’ friend Gayle King, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are leaving for Los Angeles without reaching a settlement with Prince Charles and Prince William.

The anchor of CBS Mornings said that the “turmoil” produced by Megyn Kelly and the Sussexes’ interview with Oprah Winfrey has not been settled while she was in London for the Queen’s burial.

Harry and William have often stood next to their father, King Charles III, while he laments the loss of their mother. There was also a joint engagement with Meghan and Kate, but it is unclear if this tenuous ceasefire will last, particularly since Harry’s autobiography is set to be published later this year.

After being introduced to Meghan and Harry by Oprah Winfrey, Ms. King attended the Duchess’ opulent baby shower, which was hosted by Serena Williams and Amal Clooney. In the US media, she is seen as one of the couple’s key allies.

After the Queen’s burial, she made the following statement outside Westminster Abbey: “There have been attempts on all sides to kind of set things right.”

She acknowledged that there had been no reconciliation but said, “Big families often experience drama and strife.” What will happen is still to be seen: will they be pulled apart, or will they be drawn closer together? It was fantastic to see Harry standing with his family, but I have no clue and don’t have any inside knowledge about it.

While Meghan and Harry spent the night of the funeral on Monday in Windsor’s Frogmore Cottage, they were reportedly planning to return to California as soon as possible to be with Archie, 3, and Lilibet, 1, after a two-week absence.

The Sussexes haven’t been seen in public since Harry puffed his cheeks and Meghan looked ahead as they left St. George’s Chapel after the Queen was laid to rest. The Royal Family is in mourning for another week, and all engagements have been postponed until next Tuesday.

However, it’s not out of the question that they’ve already checked into their Montecito estate.

The Royal Family waited together at Windsor Castle as they prepared to accompany the Queen to her last resting place in St. George’s Chapel, as seen in extraordinary new images that have surfaced.

Given their roles, uniforms, and the extremely public nature of their grieving, the photographs depict a family situation that is both typical and unique.

They also provide a view of the interpersonal dynamics inside the Royal Family in the wake of the well-publicized collapse of the brotherly bond between Prince William and Harry and Harry’s repeated critiques of the establishment in the wake of Megxit.

A stern-faced King Charles III may be seen in the pictures holding a ceremonial sword in one hand while sometimes chitchatting with other royals, notably Prince Edward.

Other times, Prince Harry and Peter Phillips, the son of Anne, the Princess Royal, are seen walking through a well manicured grass next to St. George’s Chapel while Prince Edward is seen conversing with his brother Prince Andrew.

Harry also speaks with Anne and Vice Admiral Sir Timothy Lawrence, who is Anne’s husband. Other royals are also in attendance, including Prince William and Lord Linley, Charles’ cousin.

Several unusual public shows of Harry and William’s cooperation took place this week. The Duke of Sussex and his wife, Meghan, were invited to tour flower tributes outside Windsor Castle with the Prince and Princess of Wales on September 10. William was last seen directing the pair to their seats in St. George’s Chapel yesterday.

The Queen was ultimately put to rest after the ceremony in St. George’s Chapel beside her parents, sister, and the Duke of Edinburgh.

Her body was interred with that of Prince Philip, her father George VI, and the Queen Mother in Windsor’s modest King George VI Memorial Chapel, annexe to St. George’s Chapel.

Her Majesty wanted to be buried apart from the considerably bigger Royal Vault in St. George’s Chapel, alongside her parents, her husband, and her sister Princess Margaret’s ashes.

Tina Brown said yesterday that Prince Harry “has a significant role to play” in the Royal Family but that he has to “ditch” his impending biography in order to win back their confidence.

The former editor of Vanity Fair said that if he wanted to become more engaged, now would be an excellent moment to create relationships with the Duke of Sussex’s brother, the Prince of Wales.

“This is a great time to be exploited,” she said, addressing Lorraine. The nation cherished that sense of cohesion, and it was stunning to see the brothers reunited.

“But there can be no confidence until he gives up his book and the tell-all films and interviews.” I believe there may be a solution if he does that.

There is a lot of work to be done and the Royal Family needs him. Being the mother of three kids, Kate doesn’t want to be travelling the globe.

“They need to divide things up in some way, and Harry has a significant role to play if he wants to.” And if Meghan wants to, given that she naturally detested everything about it.

The Sussexes may spend “four or five months” in California and the remaining time doing royal responsibilities, according to Brown.

The issue is whether they individually have what it takes to accomplish it since, as we all know, familial animosity can run deep.

“I don’t see a path ahead if Harry doesn’t want to throw the book away.”

The Sussexes would have far more opportunity to “do good” inside the Royal Family than outside of it, Brown said.

She said that Diana had always understood that her inner strength was what gave her power. “When she shook hands with the Aids sufferer, she did it in her capacity as Princess of Wales, and it was adding the lustre of the monarchy to the event that made that gesture travel around the globe,” the author said.
