Former Professional Motorcycle Racer Accused of Shooting a 20-Year-Old Woman Dead Kevin Monahan, a 65-year-old man from Hebron, New York, is facing a second-degree murder charge after allegedly shooting Kaylin Gillis, a 20-year-old woman, to death.

On Saturday night, Gillis and three friends were driving through Hebron when they took a wrong turn and ended up on Monahan’s property.

As they tried to turn the car around, Monahan reportedly came out of his porch and fired two shots, one of which hit Gillis.

Suspect Has No Criminal Record and Lives with His Counselor Wife Monahan, who has no prior criminal record, is a registered Republican who owns a contracting business in Washington County, around 60 miles northeast of Albany, close to the New York/Vermont border.

Monahan’s wife of 35 years, Polly Jinx Monahan, is an employment counselor with the New York State Department of Labor, who specializes in stress management, positivity, and optimism, according to her LinkedIn page.

Polly wrote an article in 2009 for the Glens Falls Post Star on how to handle the stress of being unemployed.

Investigation Ongoing Monahan has not yet been given a court date for the charge of second-degree murder.

Sheriff Jeffrey Murphy of Washington County has said that Monahan has lived at his home in Hebron for quite some time.

Pictures of Monahan’s house show large panel windows in the front and a no-trespassing sign nailed to a tree on the property.

The investigation is ongoing, and it is still unclear why Monahan fired his weapon.

Victim Remembered as a Gentle Soul Kaylin Gillis was described by friends as a gentle soul who loved animals.

She was an innocent young girl who was out with friends looking for another friend’s house when the shooting occurred, according to Sheriff Murphy.

Gillis’ friends drove to the neighboring town of Salem, northeast of Albany near the Vermont state line, and called 911 after the shooting.

Emergency crews arrived and performed CPR on Gillis but couldn’t save her.

A GoFundMe campaign has been launched by friends to help cover funeral expenses, which has raised just over $38,000 of its $50,000 goal as of Monday.
