Five teens injured in a single-vehicle crash days after five died

Just a few days after five of their classmates lost their lives in a horrific collision, five teens were critically hurt in a single-vehicle accident.

The most recent collision took place early on Friday morning in Beverly Hills, Sydney’s southwest, on Stoney Creek Road.

Emergency services were summoned to the scene at about 6am after reports that a Honda Accord had collided with a pole.

NSW Ambulance paramedics provided on-site care to two female passengers, both of whom were 16 years old, and then transported them to St. George Hospital in stable condition.

According to reports, the 16-year-old suffers head and hip injuries, while the other girl has a chest injury.

Additionally treated at the site and sent to Liverpool Hospital in stable condition were two male passengers, ages 15 and 16.

The 18-year-old motorist was brought to Liverpool Hospital for required tests despite only having minor injuries.

The two women were in the rear seat with one of the male passengers who was caught in the collision, according to NSW Ambulance Inspector Anna Lennard, who spoke to the St George and Sutherland Shire Leader.

While paramedics and the aeromedical team attended to the other patients on the side of the road, emergency workers struggled to extricate him, she added.

For our personnel, incidents involving children and teenagers are never easy. We urge everyone to travel cautiously since a tragic tragedy just occurred on our roads.

A crime scene was created by St. George Police Area Command officers.

The Metropolitan Crash Investigation Unit’s specialised officers are now looking into the crash’s causes.

The event occurred just a few days after a horrific crash in Sydney’s southwest at Buxton near Picton that killed five teenagers, all between the ages of 14 and 16.

Tyrell Edwards, 18, is accused with reckless driving on five counts following the high-speed collision on the evening of September 6 that claimed the lives of his five passengers.

The four companions from Picton High School who perished in the disaster were three girls and two guys.

Anyone with dashcam video or information regarding the incident in Beverly Hills is asked to call police or Crime Stoppers at 1800 333 000.
