First Avenue’s initial shooting incident leaves one person dead

One individual was killed in two different shootings that took place in Claremont on the evening of Saturday, July 23. According to reports, the occurrences happened minutes apart, and both victims had their guns taken from them.

Around 21:19, SAPS responded to the first incident on First Avenue.

According to TimesLIVE, SAPS spokesperson Warrant Officer Joseph Swartbooi said that when officers arrived, they discovered a man inside a car with gunshot wounds.

He was taken shortly to a neighbouring hospital.

“The victim was allegedly disarmed during the incident. For medical care, the sufferer was taken to a neighbouring hospital,”

Officer Swartbooi, a warrant, said.

In Herschel Close, the second event took place.

At about 21:50, SAPS responded to a second gunfire in Claremont’s Herschel Close.

They also discovered the body of an unidentified male who had been shot and was pronounced dead at the site by emergency services.

“They discovered the dead body of an unidentified man who had been shot multiple times.

The medical staff pronounced the man dead at the site.

We have grounds to think that the victim was rendered defenceless by the unidentified suspects.

Swartbooi explained.

He added that the SAPS is looking into cases of attempted murder, robbery of firearms, and murder and that the suspects are still at large.

In KZN, a naked couple was mercilessly shot and killed in bed.
