A shooting at a nightclub in Norway leaves 2 people dead and others seriously wounded

Police in Norway have confirmed that a shooting at a nightclub left two people dead and numerous more critically injured.

Social media videos from 1.15am on Saturday show emergency personnel outside Oslo’s London Pub, a homosexual nightclub.

At the site, police detained a suspect. He was reportedly captured close by.

As of now, no motive has been revealed.

Local media has reported that the number of those affected in the incident are two dead, 10 taken to hospital and 12 treated at the scene.

Three of those taken to hospital are said to be in critical condition.

Oslo is due to hold its annual Pride parade later on Saturday.

The mission was classified as a PLIVO event by the police.

Witnesses claimed that many fled the scene in terror, according to Norway’s national newspaper, VG.

The university hospital in Oslo declared that after the incident, it had been placed on red alert.

‘I saw a guy walk in with a bag, he pulled out a weapon and started firing,’ the witness told the local media.

Images online have shown nightclubbers with blood on their faces receiving treatment from emergency service responders.

Footage shared on social media, which has not been officially verified, is believed to show a man with a serious head wound.

The police encourage locals to make way for ambulances, according to a tweet from Norway’s BNN Newsroom.

Numerous ambulances are in the vicinity treating the injured as a sizable police reaction is in progress.

A sizable group of emergency responders, including police and ambulance personnel, gathered outside the London Pub, as shown in photos released by the newspaper VG, the broadcaster NRK, and others.

Helicopters hovered above central Oslo while ambulance and police car sirens were heard across the city.
