Facebook lifts Holocaust ad ban after saying it violated racial policy

Facebook has been accused of “alarming” censorship that should concern “every moral and reasonable human being on the globe” when they blocked all advertisements for the Holocaust survival film Beautiful Blue Eyes, saying that the title violates their policy on racially offensive names.

Beautiful Blue Eyes is the last film filmed by Roy Scheider, who passed away in 2008 at the age of 75. The film was initially released in 2009, but director Joshua Newton was able to modify it for distribution this month thanks to modern technologies.

During filming, one of the cameras was malfunctioning, resulting in the loss of several photos. Newton was able to fix the broken frames using AI technology and distribute the film as originally intended.

Bur Newton was informed at the start of this month that Facebook had blacklisted the video due to its title, a decision he described as distressing.

Newton stated, “Every good and rational person on the earth should be horrified by Meta-ban Facebook’s on advertising a Holocaust-related film.”

Roy Scheider, the hero of Jaws, filmed Beautiful Blue Eyes before to his passing in 2008. It has been re-edited and re-released at this time.

“Mark Zuckerberg has created an uncontrollable monster,” he told Rolling Stone at the Toronto Film Festival.

‘To be flagged by an algorithm is one thing. It is a very another matter for Meta-Facebook staff to assess the flag and support it, knowing full well that the title is not racist and the video is Holocaust-related.

Joseph, who is portrayed by Scheider, is a Holocaust survivor who went to New York and joined the NYPD. Joseph discovers that the Nazi guard who murdered his entire family is living in Germany under a false identity, and devises a plan to kill him.

Newton based a portion of the film on his father’s Holocaust experiences. His parents were Holocaust survivors.

The title alludes to the eye color of a child who perished at the hands of the Nazis and to a pivotal incident in the film.

However, the film’s distributor informed Newton that the film could not be advertised on Facebook because it violated Facebook’s policy prohibiting content that ‘makes direct or indirect assertions or connotations about a person’s race,’ among other personal characteristics.

Scheider’s character Joseph is plagued by the SS soldier who murdered his family.

This month, the film was released despite Facebook’s refusal to promote it.

Newton was unable to imagine that Zuckerberg would condone such a conduct.

Newton stated, “This is the behavior of bigots, of which there are tragically many in our culture, who wish to destroy the film in order to belittle the Holocaust.”

Mark Zuckerberg certainly did not plan for this to occur.

Facebook denied Newton’s request to reconsider.

According to Rolling Stone, they responded, “After a requested investigation of your Facebook account, we confirmed that it did not comply with our Advertising Policies or other standards.”Scheider's character Joseph is haunted by memories of the SS guard who killed his family

“You cannot promote using Facebook Products anymore.” We have reached our ultimate conclusion.

The film director Joshua Newton accused Mark Zuckerberg (left) of having “made a monster.”

The film’s advertising, including trailers, was now “permanently limited.”

Newton stated that he was contemplating legal action.

Newton remarked, “[Mark Zuckerberg] is manifestly preoccupied with establishing his company’s footprint in the metaverse.”

Instead of focusing on virtual reality, Zuckerberg should observe the real world.
