“Drug driver” kills 80-year-old

After an elderly man in his 80s was murdered by a vehicle after being struck by one, an 18-year-old guy was detained on suspicion of drugged driving.

The elderly man was reportedly struck by a black Ford Fiesta Zetec on South Road in Waterloo, Merseyside, at approximately 10.15 p.m. yesterday night. However, despite emergency services racing to the site, he eventually passed away in the hospital.

At the scene, a Walton, Liverpool, resident, age 18, was detained on suspicion of reckless driving and drug driving.

To tell the man’s family, inquiries are still being made, according to the Liverpool Echo.

Witnesses claimed to have seen the incident take place in front of Parnells café and sports bar, which is next to a bus stop.

The route that was blocked while police conducted their investigation is again open.

Anyone with knowledge is requested to contact police as they are presently conducting an investigation.
