After a six-mile bus joyride, drunk driver struck 17-year-old driver

A inebriated passenger hijacked a bus and took it on a six-mile joyride before crashing into a 17-year-Audi, old’s leaving a “trail of carnage” in their wake.

On Monday evening, the bus driver momentarily paused to get off and make a phone call before hopping behind the wheel.

After driving the automobile for a few kilometers, he struck a line of vehicles before striking an Audi A3 that was being driven by a 17-year-old.

Later, the bus was discovered abandoned near a Milton Keynes, Buckinghamshire, train station.

Later, a 43-year-old male was detained in relation to the intoxicated incident.

Drunken passenger stole bus for six-mile joy ride before ploughing into 17-year-old's Audi

When the bus struck, Travis O’Dell, a 17-year-old from Milton Keynes, was in the driver’s seat of his Audi.

The accident happened around 6.25 p.m. that evening as he was heading to meet some friends, totaling his A3.

The business apprentice said it was a miracle he survived the collision.

I’m incredibly fortunate to still be alive, he remarked. I may not be here today if it had struck my driver’s door.

The whole feeling of being flung about in the vehicle as it rocked was horrifying.

The bus sped at Travis from the right as he was waiting to turn into a roundabout.

At a speed of around 40 mph, the bus crashed into the front of Travis’ silver automobile.

Following that, the bus made a risky U-turn off Walton Park roundabout and into a grassy area.

As it lurched back into the dual carriageway and continued its perilous adventure without pausing to check on Travis and his wrecked automobile, the bus, according to Travis, “barely recovered” control.

Nobody wants to glance to their right and see a full-on bus slamming into them at a high rate of speed, he added.

He thankfully just had minor back pain, but he lost the automobile he spent $2,300 on two weeks earlier.

Before passing his driving test in October, he had begun saving for it eight months earlier.

The bus was taken at a Tesco bus stop in Milton Keynes’ Tongwell Street.

Six miles from the location where it was taken, near Milton Keynes Central railway station, police ultimately discovered the bus parked.

The same evening, a 43-year-old male was detained after being apprehended on suspicion of aggravated car theft, intoxicated driving, and risky driving.

He was later granted bail and freed till April 16.

Later that evening, a post from the Thames Valley Police Roads Policing squad read: “When people say, “When you’ve had a drink, take the bus,” it’s not intended to be taken literally.

“This Milton Keynes bus was taken by an intoxicated passenger earlier this evening and left a path of destruction before it was halted.

Thank goodness, no one was hurt in the event, and the other passengers were able to get off the bus before it was taken. The theft did not additionally do any harm to the bus driver.
