Detectives Seek Purse Snatcher Who Threw Woman to the Ground

Detectives need your help identifying a purse-snatcher who flung a woman to the ground when he robbed her late last month.

Just after 8:00 a.m. on May 27th, the suspect parked a black Toyota Camry with Washington license plate BZY9289 in the 300 block of Taylor Avenue North.

The man got out of the car, approached the victim, grabbed hold of her purse and after a 12-second struggle, threw the victim to the ground and fled with her purse. He ran back to the Toyota and drove away southbound.

Detectives believe the female registered owner of the car was not present at the time of the robbery, but they would like to speak with her.

The suspect is a Black male in his late 20s/early 30s, approximately 5’7”-5’9”, medium build, with short black hair. He was wearing a black shirt with red/white/gold graphics, khaki/tan sweatpants with a maroon patch on the right knee and black patch on the left knee, and gray shoes.
