Doja Cat attended the Valentino Haute Couture fashion show on Wednesday during Paris Fashion Week, wearing a long black trench coat over a miniskirt and bra top, as well as a cascading wig with Bettie Page-style bangs.
She took the gothic look to the next level with her accessory choice: a bejeweled purse in the style of a gloved hand with curling, claw-like nails that housed a $179 bottle of Patrón El Alto tequila.
The fantastical crystal-covered handbag, designed by Chris Habana and 3D-printed to match the dimensions of Doja’s hand, can be carried as a pocketbook or worn as a glove.
Brett Alan Nelson, the singer’s stylist and creative director, said in a press release, “I always love some sort of organic gag, nothing that feels forced but seamless to who Doja is as an individual and an artist.”
“My girlfriend adores tequila cocktails, so I took the concept of this couture-level bottle of Patrón El Alto to Paris and turned it into an accessory that never leaves her side… I made contact with Chris Habana.”
He said, “I told him I wanted something that felt like it came straight off the Paris couture runway, but I also wanted it to have a surrealistic vibe.”
Indeed, 27-year-old Doja has been leaning towards surrealism with her Paris Fashion Week head-turning ensembles.
First, she sat front row at Schiaparelli dressed in almost 30,000 red Swarovski crystals; when admirers chastised her for not wearing fake eyelashes on her gem-encrusted eyelids, she responded by wearing artificial eyelashes as eyebrows, mustache, and goatee at the Viktor & Rolf show.
After Valentino, the celebrity shaved her head and donned a blue leather dress with a cluster of grapes for the Jean Paul Gaultier Haute Couture show.
Possibly, after consuming so much tequila, she was in the mood for wine.
