Pamela Anderson Says Sebastian Stan’s Tommy Lee Transformation in “Pam & Tommy” Was “Like a Halloween Costume”

Pamela Anderson is assuming narrative control. As she promotes her forthcoming Netflix documentary Pamela, A Love Story, the actor and model is honest about the 2022 series Pam & Tommy, which was developed without her knowledge. She criticized Sebastian Stan’s portrayal of her ex-husband, Motley Crüe drummer Tommy Lee, in particular.

Despite being presented as a “positive thing” for Anderson, Anderson has always professed her dislike for the biographical comedy series. In an interview with Variety, the Baywatch star referred to the writers of Pam & Tommy as “asses” and stated that they owe her a public apology.

The celebrity focused on Stan’s transition into her ex-husband, Lee. She stated, “To me, it looked like a Halloween costume,” referring to the false tattoos and prosthetics, which she only saw on billboards because she refused to watch the limited series. Last year, USA Today claimed that Stan’s metamorphosis required approximately three hours every day, as he had approximately thirty tattoos applied. In addition, he blackened his hair, wore brown contacts, and sported a prosthetic penis and pierced nipples.

The series, which focuses on the infamous publication of Anderson and Lee’s sex video, was represented by Lily James and Stan, respectively, as the two titular protagonists. Pam & Tommy splits its attention between two narratives, one of which takes a sympathetic look at the perpetrator, Rand Gauthie (Seth Rogan), and the other of which focuses on Anderson and Lee as they deal with the media’s reaction to the tape and their different impressions of it.

James has revealed that she reached out to Anderson throughout filming, but the former Playboy model never responded. Anderson emphasized to Variety that she harbors no ill will toward the star, even inviting her to the premiere of her Netflix documentary.

“I believe it is difficult to play someone when you do not have the complete picture. I have no objections about Lily James. I believe she is a gorgeous girl who was simply performing her duties. “The thought of the entire event transpiring was absolutely devastating to me,” Anderson added.

Pamela, A Love Story, the tell-all documentary by Anderson, will be available on Netflix later this month. The work, which was produced by her son Brandon Thomas Lee, has been described as “intimate and humanizing.”

It follows Pamela Anderson’s life and career from small-town girl to international sex symbol, actress, activist, and doting mother, according to the summary.

Watch Pamela, A Love Story, when it opens Jan. 31 on Netflix.
