Detectives seek information in relation to armed robbery in Inkerman

Detectives from Ayr Criminal Investigation Branch are seeking information in relation to an armed robbery with violence that took place on February 23 in Inkerman.

At approximately 2.20pm on the Bruce Highway, an 85-year-old man was assaulted with a metal bar, and his Mazda BT-50 was stolen.

The victim was transported to Ayr Hospital in a stable condition.

To assist with their investigation, police have released CCTV footage from a petrol station on the Bruce Highway at Bowen.

The vehicle in question was observed to pull in just after 2.50 pm before leaving.

Detectives are particularly interested in speaking to the man and woman depicted in the footage and urge anyone with information to do immediately contact the police.

Shortly after the incident, police attempted to intercept the stolen vehicle on the Bruce Highway near Bowen, but it failed to stop and continued driving dangerously.

Investigations into the robbery are ongoing, and police are calling on the public to provide any information they may have to help solve this crime.
