LOOK: Police in Cape Town are trying to find THIS ‘baby-snatcher’

According to police spokesperson Sergeant Wesley Twigg, the baby was left with the woman on Saturday, 30 April 2022, while the mother went into a retail store. When the mother returned, the woman and the two-month-old baby were missing. A large-scale manhunt has now been launched.

It’s now into day nine of the search for this missing baby, and SAPS have kicked things up a gear. A computer-generated photo of the suspect, identified by the panic-stricken mother, has been made public by police officials.

Bishop Lavis kidnapping sparks major response

SAPS have also issued a statement, giving us an update on the search for the Bishop Lavis baby-snatcher. They have confirmed that anyone who has any information about this suspect can contact them anonymously.

“The Bishop Lavis Family Violence Child Abuse Sexual Offences Unit has released an identikit of the suspect who they believe is involved in the kidnapping of a two month old baby on Saturday, 30 April 2022 at a retail store in Bishop Lavis.”

“Anyone with any information or who can identify the person in the identikit is kindly requested to contact the investigation officer, Detective Sergeant Thembisa Buqa on 073 519 3384 or Crime Stop on 08600 10111. Information will be treated confidentially and you may remain anonymous.”
