Joint Police Operation Seizes Massive Cocaine Consignment in Cape Town

South African Police Service, Metro Police, and Law Enforcement officials have made a massive cocaine bust in the Airport Industrial area in Cape Town, following a tip-off about a large quantity of drugs being held at a business in the area.

After a raid and search of the premises, the officers discovered 140 one-kilogram sealed bricks of cocaine in 18 boxes with an estimated value of R84 million.

An enquiry docket has been opened by the police and further investigations are ongoing to determine the possible origin and destination of the drugs.

No arrests have been made so far in connection with the cocaine bust in Cape Town’s Airport Industrial area. The Provincial Detective’s Organised Crime, Narcotics Section has been assigned to the investigation.

Western Cape police commissioner, Lieutenant-General Thembisile Patekile, praised the successful joint operation and stressed the importance of cracking down on illegal drug trafficking in the province.

The authorities will continue to work together to investigate the massive cocaine bust and try to uncover the source and destination of the drugs.

This bust is a significant victory in the ongoing war against illegal drug trafficking in South Africa.
