In 2017, Sainsbury was caught in London with 5.8 kg of cocaine in her luggage.

She claimed she was first exposed to smuggling when working in a Sydney brothel.

Sainsbury maintains she believed she was transporting paperwork, not cocaine.

Her first indication that something was amiss was her arrival in Columbia.

Sainsbury stated that she attempted to run but was captured by the drug cartel.

Cassie Sainsbury, a notorious convicted drug smuggler, has disclosed that she was initiated into a Colombian cocaine ring through a Sydney brothel.

Sainsbury acknowledged for the first time in an interview that aired Sunday night on 7News Spotlight that she was part of an international narcotics operation that led to her arrest at the age of 22.

In April 2017, Sainsbury was apprehended with 5.8 kilograms of cocaine concealed in 18 headphone boxes inside her suitcase as she boarded a flight from Bogota Airport, Colombia, to London.

Cassie Sainsbury, the author of ‘Cocaine,’ claimed she was introduced to the drug smuggling underground at a Sydney brothel (pictured, Sainsbury during her tell-all interview with Seven on Sunday)

She believes she was introduced to the underground of organized crime by the Madame of her Sydney brothel, who observed that Sainsbury did not enjoy ‘entertaining’ guests.

She stated, “She was a little bit compassionate because, obviously, she understood that some people enjoy doing it and others do not.”

She stated that she had a buddy who frequently needed people to make deliveries into Sydney and that he was accommodating, a wonderful friend, dependable, and trustworthy.

I sensed that she was genuinely attempting to assist me.

Sainsbury stated that her job was to deliver ‘papers’ to prominent corporations in Sydney’s central business district.

She said she never thought she was transporting cocaine, stating, “I was quite naive.”

In April 2017, Sainsbury was apprehended with 5.8kg of cocaine concealed in 18 headphone boxes (above) on a journey from Bogota to London.

When I arrived at the delivery location, the receptionist would take the parcel from me and place it in a pigeonhole.

The one that jumped out to me was an orthodontist.

She would receive between $100 and $150 per delivery, according to Sainsbury.

She stated, “Confidentiality was the crucial word.”

Two to fifteen jobs per week, which she now realizes were cocaine deliveries, were completed by Sainsbury.

She said, “I didn’t realize how much was utilized until all of this.”

It’s so eye-opening, it’s enormous.

However, Sainsbury’s life took a terrible turn when she and another employee were requested to pick up some paperwork in London.

“We were told London, not Columbia,” stated Sainsbury.

Sainsbury claimed that, prior to her arrest in Columbia, she had accidentally distributed cocaine in Sydney while mistaking the shipments for “papers” (pictured, Sainsbury on her way to court in July, 2017)

‘Now that I look back, I realize I was such an idiot for not seeing it.

I honestly believed I would retrieve documents.

The first indication that something was amiss was when she boarded her flight and realized she was headed to Bogota, the capital of Columbia, rather than London.

Sainsbury stated, “I didn’t know where Bogota was, so I had to check it up.”

Everything was alright, it was a tiny snag, and I should do as instructed.

She got a terrible feeling about the trip and felt she needed to leave, but was unsure how.

She stated, “I didn’t know how to get home.”

I was told I was being followed and that if I didn’t comply, something bad would happen to me.

Sainsbury, however, was not deterred by the threats, and she visited a travel agent to purchase the cheapest airfare home.

In 2017, 5.8kg of cocaine was discovered concealed in 18 headphone cases (above) within Sainsbury’s luggage.

She stated, “When I walked out, a member of the drug ring was present.”

He drove me to his place and gave me some water because I’m not a huge drinker and my body was out of control.

Sainsbury claimed she was drugged, raped, and held captive in Columbia for the balance of her time there.

She remarked, “I think that’s what makes it worse,” adding, “I understood what was happening but I couldn’t do anything about it.”

I was not abandoned…I was afraid.

She asserts that the man who assaulted her packed her luggage for her travel to London.

Sainsbury stated that she was unable to flee because she was under continual surveillance and had been constantly threatened (pictured, Sainsbury on her way to court in November, 2017)

I knew what was inside, but I had no idea how to escape.

Sainsbury recalled passing through airport security, the relief she felt when she checked in her suitcase, and the terror she felt when she heard her name spoken over the loudspeaker at the gate.

She reported that four police officers greeted her and escorted her to a private room where eighteen headphone cases were arranged on a table.

Initially, she was relieved and believed there was a possibility that she was merely smuggling electronics.

She said, “Stupid me didn’t imagine the headphones’ packaging contained cocaine.”

She reported the link between the Sydney brothel and the cocaine ring to the Australian Federal Police, but no investigation was conducted.

The AFP corroborated both Sainsbury’s claim and Seven’s absence of a subsequent probe.

Her tribulations continued following her arrest, as her father demanded that his 22-year-old daughter be incarcerated for as long as possible in one of Columbia’s hardest female prisons, where she endured the direst conditions.

Sainsbury was given a six-year prison sentence but was freed in early 2020.

She claims that her time spent in jail will haunt her forever.

She stated, “It was horrific; I witnessed people die.”

I have witnessed individuals being stabbed and hanging themselves.

Sainsbury tried suicide by jumping from the fourth floor of the prison when the ‘helplessness’ in the institution gradually wore her down.

‘Cocaine’ Cassie Sainsbury said she was raped in 2017 while attempting to flee Columbia.

However, another prisoner grabbed her as she was about to jump and told her not to give up.

Sainsbury added, “When I attempted to descend the stair, I felt someone pull me back.”

She scolded me. She essentially stated that there is a glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel.

Fortunately, Sainsbury survived her period in prison and was able to meet Tatiana, the love of her life.

She stated, “We had a group of friends, and one night we went out to celebrate a birthday, and we instantly hit it off.”

Sainsbury stated that she attempted suicide at one of Columbia’s worst female jails (pictured, Sainsbury during a court hearing in August, 2017)

Midway through last year, the couple began dating, and Sainsbury reported that Tatiana was understanding of her previous past.

“I told her everything about everything,” she added.

Tatiana basically stated that she would not judge me based on my background; she handled the situation with great maturity.

‘I feel like I’m the happiest I’ve ever been. It is comforting to feel that I can be myself without fear of criticism from someone who is always there for me.

Sainsbury is now married to Tatiana, a Colombian woman, and claims she is no longer “the timid little girl I was six years ago” (pictured, Sainsbury and Tatiana at their wedding in March)

The couple wed in a glitzy ceremony on a private island in Columbia in March of this year.

Ms. Sainsbury sparkled in a beautiful wedding gown, while her spouse chose a well-groomed tuxedo with a pink bow tie.

Photographs depict the infatuated pair enjoying their special evening.

Sainsbury stated in her final message that she is no longer terrified and will not allow herself to be exploited again.

“I’m not afraid. ‘Experiencing what I have experienced has taught me that I cannot be afraid,’ she said.

I’ve acquired the ability to stand up for myself.

“I’m no longer the timid child I was six years ago.”
