A 50-year-old man was fatally stabbed on Christmas Day, and a murder inquiry has been opened in response.
On Sunday, December 25, at 4:55 p.m., police responded to a home property in Holloway Road, Islington, in response to concerns for a resident’s wellbeing.
They quickly administered first aid after discovering a man who had been stabbed. Additionally present were the London Ambulance Service and the London Air Ambulance.
The man, who is said to be in his mid-50s, was declared dead at the spot despite their best attempts.
His heirs have been notified.
In due time, a post-mortem examination will be scheduled.
A 55-year-old man has been detained on murder suspicion and escorted to a police station in north London. He is still being held.
Investigators are detectives from the Specialist Crime Command.
