Thabo Bester, a convicted rapist and murderer serving a life sentence, managed to escape from a maximum-security prison operated by the multinational private security company G4S.

Sightings of Bester Post-Prison Fire Raise Questions

According to a report by GroundUp, almost two months after a prison fire that was believed to have killed Bester, Dr. Nandipha Magudumana was spotted shopping with a man who bore a striking resemblance to Bester.

This sighting has added further confusion and speculation regarding the circumstances surrounding Bester’s escape and alleged demise.

Confirmation from Department of Correctional Services

The Department of Correctional Services has confirmed that Thabo Bester did escape from the Mangaung Prison in May 2022.

The revelation has sparked outrage and calls for a thorough investigation into the security protocols and procedures within the prison system.
