Christina Applegate attended the 2023 SAG Awards in Los Angeles on Sunday night, and it may be her final awards show as an actor.
The star, who is currently battling multiple sclerosis, walked the red carpet in a stunning, suit-inspired black gown with an embellished cane.
She brought her 12-year-old daughter, Sadie Grace, who wore a black blazer with matching slim-fitting pants and a newsboy cap.
In an interview with The Los Angeles Times, Applegate expressed her doubts about continuing her acting career, stating that she couldn’t imagine getting up early and spending 12 to 14 hours on a set at the moment.
However, she is nominated for outstanding performance by a female actor for her portrayal of Jen Harding in the Netflix comedy “Dead to Me,” marking her sixth-ever SAG nod.
Applegate revealed that she plans to keep working by doing voice-overs to make money and take care of her daughter.
Her MS diagnosis previously forced her to take a break from filming the third and final season of “Dead to Me,” but she eventually resumed production after undergoing treatment.
Applegate admitted that it was initially difficult watching her performance on the show knowing the physical pain she was experiencing.
She gained 40 pounds due to inactivity and medication and didn’t look or feel like herself.
However, she was able to distance herself from her own ego and appreciate the beautiful piece of television it was.
All the scenes she wasn’t in were so much fun for her to see and experience for the first time.
