The attorneys for Christie Lee Kennedy stated that her husband, David Larkin, is “full of excuses.”

Ms. Kennedy is accused of hitting her husband and his suspected mistress with her vehicle.

In March 2021, Ms. Kennedy struck and wounded the pair in north Brisbane.

Ms. Kennedy stated that she accidentally struck them, however Mr. Larkin feels it was an act of vengeance.

In court, the husband of a woman accused of intentionally driving over him and his suspected lover with her BMW was criticized for being “full of excuses.”

In March of 2021, her husband David Larkin and another lady, Zowie Noring, were seriously injured in a horrific crash in Brisbane’s north, for which Christie Lee Kennedy has been on trial at the Brisbane District Court this past week.

After four days of testimony, the prosecution and the defense presented their closing arguments on Friday.

The attorneys for Christie Lee Kennedy told the jury not to believe her husband, David Larkin, because he is “full of excuses.”

Penny White, the defense attorney, told the jury that Mr. Larkin’s testimony should not be believed because it was “full of excuses,” and that Ms. Kennedy never intended to strike any of the claimed victims.

Ms. Kennedy has pled not guilty to charges of malicious act with intent to disable and substitute counts of assault resulting in bodily injury with an offensive weapon.

Her defense attorney stated she never intended to injure or cripple Mr. Larkin and Ms. Noring when she crashed her car into them.

Ms. Kennedy has acknowledged to striking Ms. Noring following the incident.

Ms. Kennedy reportedly drove down Mr. Larkin (shown on their wedding day) and his claimed mistress in order to get revenge for his infidelity.

Penny White, the defense attorney, encouraged the jurors to put themselves in the shoes of Ms. Kennedy and examine the evidence ‘coldly, clinically, dispassionately, and skeptically.’

Ms. Kennedy said on Wednesday that she never planned to strike the duo, but rather wanted to find out what her husband was doing and confront him that evening.

Ms. Kennedy said she slammed on the brakes when she saw her husband “kissing, embracing, and groping” another lady.

She stated that she was unaware of her husband’s adultery.

Ms. Kennedy (shown on the right with her husband David Larkin) never intended to strike her husband or Ms. Noring north of Brisbane, according to her defense team’s closing arguments.

Ms. White pleaded with the jurors to consider her testimony as honest and genuine, stating, “This was an accident.”

She stated, “None of us were in her brain or in the car with her.”

“Only she (Ms. Kennedy) knows what she was thinking that day, and she has revealed it to you in her testimony.”

Ms. White said that David Larkin’s evidence should be disregarded because it was “full of excuses.”

She stated that his explanation of the installation of the Find my Phone app did not make sense, since he conceded during his testimony that he did not know if it was pre-installed or not.

The defense attorney for Ms. Kennedy asked the jury to reject the testimony of David Larkin, arguing that it was not true.

The court was informed that it was a red herring that added nothing to the case.

Ms. White stated, “Christie Kennedy is demonstrably a more credible witness than David Larkin.”

She believed they were experiencing difficulties, but she was unaware he was having an affair with Zowie Noring.

But Crown Prosecutor Jennifer O’Brien said that Ms. Kennedy, upon seeing her husband embrace Ms. Noring, was “mad” and planned to hit the couple.

She stated, “People frequently cheat on their husbands, but they don’t drive them over with their vehicles.”

Mr. Larkin (right) and his accused mistress Zowie Noring were seriously injured when Ms. Kennedy (left) drove her car into them.

The jury was asked to dismiss the testimony of Ms. Kennedy.

Ms. O’Brien stated that the distance between Ms. Kennedy’s vehicle and where Mr. Larkin was standing appeared to be ‘aligned up’ with the pair as she showed the jury film of the crash.

She remarked, “Look at the line and the way the automobile is traveling; it is evident that the vehicle is not on the right side of the road.”

The court was informed that the car did not appear to veer or swerve.

Mr. Kennedy (above) asserts that she ran over them by mistake and not out of malice.

Ms. O’Brien said that Ms. Kennedy’s body language following the collision, which included her “marching” up to her husband as he lay in the gutter before hitting Ms. Noring, was not suggestive of someone who did this “accidentally.”

She said that it was not a natural response when two persons were struck, as there was neither remorse nor concern for their wellbeing.

She stated, “This film provides a genuine glimpse into her state of mind.”

She drives in a straight path for a few seconds… it looks that Ms. Kennedy is engaging in an extremely risky deed.

Ms. O’Brien stated that Ms. Kennedy would have been aware of the situation since she had informed her friend of her husband’s location and ‘immediately’ driven there.

The jury was informed that Ms. Kennedy’s demeanor throughout her testimony may have suggested she was “recalling a narrative.”
