Chris Rock finally set to talk about the Will’s experience in his Netflix special

Comedian Chris Rock is finally set to address the incident where Will Smith slapped him at the Oscars last year, during his upcoming live Netflix stand-up special, “Chris Rock: Selective Outrage,” according to an exclusive source. The show will be streamed live from the Hippodrome Theatre in Baltimore on Saturday. The source says that Rock has struggled with how to test out his material while keeping it under wraps, and has relied on veteran comedy writers to help him tweak his jokes. While the material won’t dominate the show, the insider added that viewers should tune in until the last joke.

In addition to the Rock event, Netflix has added pre- and post-show specials, which will feature appearances from comedians such as Amy Schumer, Jerry Seinfeld, Arsenio Hall, Leslie Jones, David Spade, Dana Carvey, JB Smoove, and Kareem Abdul-Jabbar. Rock had initially refrained from mentioning the incident during his recent “Chris Rock Ego Death World Tour,” but has since sprinkled in some material at various gigs, including saying that “Anyone who says words hurt has never been punched in the face” and describing Smith as “ripping his mask off and show[ing] us he was as ugly as the rest of us.”
