Will Smith finally apologizes for slapping Chris Rock at the Oscars

Chris Rock has not yet accepted Will Smith’s apology for slapping him at the Oscars, the actor has now said.

The actor said in the video he shared on Instagram on Friday that he did not apologise to Rock because he was “fogged out” during his victory speech.

“I reached out to Chris, and the response I received said that when he is ready to chat, he will call out.”

I shall thus apologize to you, Chris.

I’m available for discussion whenever you’re ready, and my behavior was inappropriate.

He also expressed regret to Rock’s mother and the rest of his family.

I want to apologize to Chris’s mother because I really didn’t know how many people were injured at that exact moment.

I want to say sorry.

Smith claimed that he is solely responsible for what happened and that his wife Jada did not give him any instructions to slap Rock.

He made the peculiar remark that he picked Rock to be slapped because of their “history.”

“I’ve spent the last three months reliving and unraveling the subtleties and intricacies of what transpired at that very time.”

“I won’t attempt to unravel all of that at this time, but I can assure you that no part of me believes that that was the appropriate course of action at the time.

There is no part of me that believes that is the best way to respond to insults or feelings of contempt.

The show’s host, Rock, made light of the fact that Smith’s wife Jada had a bald head and therefore resembled “GI Jane.”

She had just just admitted to having baldness.

Keep my wife’s name out of your f*****g mouth, Smith yelled as he stormed the stage and hit Rock.

That evening, he went on to win Best Actor for his performance in King Richard, although he made no explicit apologies to Rock.

He continued, adamant that his wife was not responsible for the slap: “I made a choice of my own based on my own experiences from my history with Chris.”

Jada played no part in it. I apologize, baby.

“I want to apologize to my family and kids for the stress that I put us all through.

“This is a community, to all my fellow nominees,” I won because you supported me, and it hurts me to have taken and marred your moment.

Smith continued by saying that his “core trauma” is “disappointing people.”

‘Questlove’s eyes are still visible to me.

You are aware that that occurred at Questlove’s award.

You know, kind of. Really, “I’m sorry” doesn’t cut it.

‘My main trauma is disappointing people,’ I said. It stings because I detest disappointing people.

Knowing that I didn’t live up to people’s expectations of me harms my psychological and emotional well-being, and I’m doing my best to make amends.

And I’m attempting to feel regret without feeling self-conscious about it.

I’m trying not to think of myself as a piece of s**t because I’m human, I made a mistake, and I’m human.

“I would tell those folks that I understand it was perplexing and startling, but I promise you I am deeply committed and dedicated to spreading light, love, and joy throughout the world.

He assured the disappointed supporters, “And, you know, if you hold on, I promise we’ll be able to be friends again.”

Rock only recently made light of the incident during a performance at Madison Square Garden.

He remarked to the audience, “Anyone who believes words hurt has never been hit in the face.”
