CBS has renewed ‘Fire Country’ for a second season

According to a statement released by the network on Friday, Fire Country has been renewed for a second season.

Set in Northern California, the firefighter drama series stars Max Thieriot (Seal Team) as “a young convict seeking redemption and a shorter prison sentence by joining a prison release firefighting program in which he and other inmates are partnered with elite firefighters to extinguish massive, unpredictable wildfires in the region.”

Season 1 launched on October 7, and the show will return from its fall sabbatical this coming Friday.

Fire Country drew an average of 8 million people per episode, making it the most-watched new series of the season, according to CBS. According to the network, this figure increases to 10 million when all streaming platforms (such as Paramount+) are taken into account.

Amy Reisenbach, president of CBS Entertainment, remarked, “It’s quite remarkable to see a brand-new series immediately resonate with both broadcast and streaming audiences in this way.” “Fire Country offers a multitude of attractive access points for the audience. It combines high-stakes action with small-town charm, intrigue, and romance, and is centered around a family franchise. We are fortunate to have a great team both in front of and behind the camera, lead by incredible producers, writers, and an incredibly talented cast.”

The series also features Billy Burke, Kevin Alejandro, Diane Farr, Stephanie Arcila, Jordan Calloway, and Jules Latimer, in addition to Thieriot.

Alongside Bruckheimer, Thieriot, Tony Phelan, Joan Rater, Tia Napolitano, and KristieAnne Reed also serve as executive producers. CBS Studios is the producer of Fire Country.
