Kate Abdo lost no time mocking Micah Richards prior to Wednesday night’s Champions League match.
Abdo, a former Sky Sports News presenter, anchors the CBS show Sports Golazo on European nights. The show has attracted a cult-like following on social media. Regular visitors consist of Thierry Henry, Jamie Carragher, and Richards, of course.
Before the match between RB Leipzig and Manchester City, the quartet’s witty dialogue continued to go viral, as it typically does. During the introduction of the three guests, Abdo directed a playful jab at the former Cityzens defender, who took it in equanimity.
Abdo began, “I’m accompanied by everyone’s favorite, Thierry Henry.” She then referred to Jamie Carragher as “Liverpool’s favorite player.” However, she reserved the best for last, as the camera panned to Richards at the studio’s end.
She continued, “And Micah Richards, his personal favorite.” Richards responded with his signature chuckle, while Carragher and Henry smiled broadly in response to Abdo’s remarks.
Richards then responded with a stinging retort, “If you don’t love me, I will, understand?”
