Big Brother viewers accuse CBS of censoring racist comments made by competitor Kyle Capener, as #KKKyle becomes a trending topic on Twitter.
Kyle Capener, age 29, was captured on camera stating that he believes contenders of color are teaming together to defeat white contestants and that whites should do the same.
The clip was discovered on the show’s 24-hour livesteam, but it was not shown.
Throughout the season, viewers have accused CBS of omitting what they perceive to be Capener’s racist behavior.

The controversy began when video surfaced of competitor Kyle Capener, 29, claiming that the remaining contestants of color are conspiring to defeat white contestants.
Capener is one of the eleven remaining contenders in a pool of competitors with a growing racial disparity in season 24.
“Those six with that background seem a lot like the Cookout, with a very diverse background,” said Capener, referring to a coalition of all-black contestants from the previous season that aimed to secure the show’s first black champion.

As it began to circulate on social media, however, viewers identified further racist scenes in Capener and accused the showrunners of removing them. Since then, #StopProtectingKyle and #KKKyle have become trending topics on Twitter.

A disclaimer At the beginning of each episode, Big Brother stresses that the contestants’ opinions are their own and do not reflect the show’s perspective.

Another user tweeted, “Not surprised @CBSBigBrother is covering Kyle and the silent majority’s micro aggressions against POC,” adding, “Nobody cares about the POC experience since we are viewed as inferior.”
Viewers also noted that Capener had previously referred to his all-white alliance as a’silent majority’ and termed the POC candidates who ‘jumped’ him ‘loud bullies.’

The hashtag #StopProtectingKyle began trending on Twitter after the video of Capener was published.
Viewers accused CBS of editing out what they deemed to be Kyle Capener’s racist actions.
Another person tweeted an image of the disclaimer posted at the beginning of each episode of Big Brother, which emphasizes that the contestant’s opinions are their own and do not reflect the perspective of the show.
Big Brother is a reality show about a group of people that have no privacy 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Caution is suggested for viewers,’ the statement states.
This viewer was among numerous who accused the program of hypocrisy for airing the disclaimer but omitting Capener’s remarks.
What is the point of placing this at the beginning of feeds if you ALWAYS cut away from talks that touch on sensitive topics or “may show prejudices and other ideas” that you claim not to condone? A Twitter user remarked, “Stop defending harmful conduct.” Stop concealing the truth.
CBS has not made a public statement on the allegations that it is censoring Capener’s behavior.
Capener is one of the eleven remaining participants from season 24, a group that has a growing racial rift.
Viewers believed Big Brother was hypocritical in what it permitted to air on television and what was relegated to the 24-hour livestream.
