Joy Behar has stated that she will not be watching Peacock’s new Casey Anthony documentary because to a professional dispute from years ago. Today’s edition of The View revealed that Behar is boycotting Casey Anthony: Where the Truth Lies because she holds Anthony responsible for the loss of her talk show.

During a discussion about the ethics of the docuseries — which comes more than a decade after Anthony was found not guilty in the murder of her 2-year-old daughter, Caylee — Behar reminded her co-hosts that while the nation was glued to their televisions during the trial, she was hosting a “very good” talk show that was abruptly canceled.

Behar stated, “I have no interest in [Anthony], but years ago I had a show on HLN where I interviewed a variety of celebrities, including Diane Keaton, Catherine Deneuve, and Bill Murray, and it was a great show.”

Say Anything! debuted on HLN in 2009 and aired there for two seasons before moving to Current TV for its third and final season. Behar lamented the cancellation of her show on HLN in 2011, the same year as Anthony’s trial.

“Casey Anthony became the focus of that network, and that was the end of my show,” Behar told The View, adding, “For some reason, crime and a narrative like this really capture people’s interest. It fails to capture my attention. I also cannot tolerate her.”

Whoopi Goldberg noted that Behar was on the same network as Nancy Grace, who aired a long-running news program on the network and covered Anthony’s 2011 trial extensively. Behar responded, “I was… that is what occurred, and I could not bear to discuss her.”

After referring to Anthony as “a tiny liar,” Behar doubled down, raised her eyebrows, and reiterated, “she is a liar.”

Behar’s co-host Ana Navarro stated earlier in the broadcast that she “can’t stand” Anthony, telling the panel that she can’t even look at her face or listen to her voice.

“If people want to watch it, that is their decision. If I were to watch a documentary, it would be about the Galapagos Islands’ whales, lemmings, and iguanas. “I find it quite offensive,” she stated.

ABC airs The View weekdays at 11pm/10c.

Casey Anthony: Where the Truth Lies is currently available to view on Peacock.
