The View’s Joy Behar Shares Experience with Toxic Friendship and “Ghosting”

During a recent episode of The View, co-host Joy Behar spoke candidly about her experience with “friendship detoxing”.

Moderator Whoopi Goldberg asked the group if they have ever let people fade from their lives, to which Behar responded with a reference to the Netflix series “Sparking Joy”: “If they don’t spark joy, I Marie Kondo them.”

While Sara Haines tried to interject, Behar interrupted and explained that it was a joke with some truth behind it.

Behar went on to reveal that she once had a friend who continuously talked about her behind her back, prompting her to step back from the relationship.

She explained her approach by saying, “I’m a big girl, I’ve had a ton of therapy, talk to the face, OK?” and revealed that the person was eventually ghosted.

Sunny Hostin pointed out that different friends provide different things and that it’s not necessary to cut people out of your life unless they become toxic or start taking away.

The conversation ended with a lighthearted moment as Behar jokingly added, “Some friends you want to sleep with!”

Overall, the conversation touched on the importance of self-care and being mindful of the people we allow into our lives. The View airs on weekdays at 11/10c on ABC.
