Before watching “Black Panther: Wakanda Forever,” recall 15 details

King T’Challa is the leader of Wakanda and the Black Panther.

T’Challa, first featured in 2016’s “Captain America: Civil War,” becomes the leader of Wakanda after his father, King T’Chaka (John Kani), is assassinated by Zemo (Daniel Brühl) in a terrorist attack.

Shuri, T’Challa’s sister, is a prodigy who leads Wakanda’s science division.

Shuri is primarily responsible for developing Wakanda’s technologies.

Super close with her big brother, Shuri designed T’Challa’s Black Panther outfit and acted as his sidekick while he was out in the field to be his eyes and ears to help keep him safe.

At the end of “Black Panther,” T’Challa puts Shuri in charge of the “science and information sharing” section of Wakanda’s outreach program.

T’Challa and Shuri were both lost in the Snap of Thanos.

When Thanos snapped half the earth from existence at the end of 2018’s “Infinity War,” we witnessed T’Challa fall to dust. A poster for the 2019 film “Avengers: Endgame” reveals that Shuri also vanished from reality.

Both were absent for five years until “Endgame” brought them back.

It is essential to keep in mind that their mother, Queen Ramonda (Angela Bassett), has already experienced the loss of her children.

Its vibranium is the source of Wakanda’s wealth.

Mount Bashenga is the mountain that provides the majority of Wakanda’s vibranium.

Prince N’Jobu (Sterling K. Brown), T’Chaka’s brother, narrates Wakanda’s history to his son, Eric Killmonger, in the opening sequence of “Black Panther” (Seth Carr). He stated that millions of years ago, a meteorite carrying vibranium, the hardest metal in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, crashed into Africa.

Five tribes eventually settled and named the place where the meteorite struck Wakanda. Vibranium is employed in all Wakandan technology and tools, making their city superior to the rest of the world, as we learn later in the film.

It is thought that Wakanda is the only country where vibranium exists. People, such as Ulysses Klaue (Andy Serkis), have attempted to steal the priceless metal for this reason.

The primary vibranium source is Mount Bashenga.

To aid others, Wakanda made itself and its resources known to the world.

T’Challa informs his sister of his plans to establish outreach centers in Oakland, California, Killmonger’s hometown.

T’Challa began constructing Wakandan worldwide outreach centers to assist neglected populations at the conclusion of “Black Panther.”

Later, in an end-credits scene, T’Challa speaks in front of the United Nations, stating they’ll be sharing their knowledge and resources with the rest of the globe in a call for unification.

“Wakanda will no longer observe from obscurity. We cannot do so. We should not. We will strive to demonstrate how brothers and sisters on this planet ought to respect one another “T’Challa remarked. “Now, more than ever, the illusions of divide pose a threat to our very survival. Everyone knows the truth. More things unite us than divide us. But in times of crisis the wise build bridges while the foolish build barriers. We must discover a means to look after one another as if we were one single tribe.”

While Nakia supports the decision for Wakanda to send aid to other countries, the Wakandan elders believe it’s best to conceal from the world.

“Wakanda Forever” previews indicate we’ll uncover the implications of T’Challa’s action as soldiers are seen trying to steal vibranium.

Wakandans might challenge for the throne in a traditional ceremony. The victor becomes king of Wakanda and is bestowed the Black Panther’s abilities.

The ceremony occurs by a waterfall.

The first “Black Panther” film depicts the selection of a new monarch in Wakanda. As with most systems, the eldest child ascends to the throne.

In “Black Panther,” Jabari chieftain M’Baku (Winston Duke) challenges for the throne, but T’Challa persuades him to yield.

When you become the Black Panther, you perform a rite that transports you to a parallel dimension known as the Ancestral Plane, among other names.

In “Black Panther,” T’Challa views the Astral Plane as the Ancestral Plane.

The Astral Plane is a dimension where your soul momentarily departs your body and you can contact with other deceased souls.

According to “Doctor Strange,” this is the Astral Dimension. The majority of “Black Panther” refers to it as the Ancestral Plane.

Depending on one’s beliefs, the Astral Plane appears differently.

T’Challa visits his father in “Black Panther” in the Ancestral Plane, a place where all prior Wakandan rulers reunite after death.

Those who do not believe in the religious Ancestral Plane perceive a meaningful location. Killmonger encounters his father in his childhood residence in “Black Panther.”

The garden containing the heart-shaped herb that lends the Black Panther his powers has been destroyed.

After obtaining the Black Panther’s abilities, Killmonger tells his servants to destroy all heart-shaped plants so that he will be the final Black Panther.

Immediately following his brief reign as king of Wakanda, Killmonger ordered all heart-shaped herbs to be burned so that the mantle of Black Panther would die with him.

T’Challa ingested the final known herb near the end of “Black Panther” to save his life and help him recapture the throne.

Since “Wakanda Forever” trailers hint at a new Black Panther, it is unknown whether the new hero will possess the same strength and abilities until another herb is discovered.

Nakia is the love interest of T’Challa and a former Wakandan spy.

Nakia was formerly a member of the War Dogs, an organization tasked with ensuring the safety of the nation on a global scale. Nakia utilized her position as a War Dog to aid citizens of other nations as well.

At the conclusion of “Black Panther,” Nakia and T’Challa appear to have solidified their love. It is currently unknown what happened to the two after the film’s conclusion and during the Blip years, when half the population perished.

M’Baku is the head of the Jabari mountain tribe, which does not rely on vibranium technology.

In “Avengers: Infinity War,” M’Baku appears to be a much closer ally of T’Challa, as he refers to him as “brother.” In “Avengers: Infinity War,” the Jabari fought alongside T’Challa before Thanos obtained all of the Infinity Stones.

M’Baku survived Thano’s snap and is currently a tribal council member of the Wakandans.

Okoye (Danai Gurira) is the commander of the Dora Milaje, an elite female-only unit that defends the royal family of Wakanda.

Due to her status, she was introduced in the first “Black Panther” film as T’Challa’s advisor and close friend. Okoye or another member of the Dora Milaje is frequently close behind the Black Panther. Okoye will return for the sequel.

Okoye is married to W’Kabi, the former head of security for the Border Tribe of Wakanda, in “Black Panther.”

Okoye and W’Kabi are portrayed by Danai Gurira and Daniel Kaluuya, respectively, in “Black Panther.”

In the 2018 film, W’Kabi was T’Challa’s best friend until he supported Killmonger’s rise to the throne. W’Kabi refused to step aside when T’Challa returned home to continue his challenge for the throne, instead fighting alongside Killmonger and supporting his plan to wage war against the world.

W’Kabi ultimately submits to his wife, and he has not been seen in the MCU since.

Due to schedule difficulties with “Nope,” actor Daniel Kaluuya was unable to return for “Wakanda Forever,” thus it would be interesting to see how W’Kabi is addressed in the sequel.

Ayo is one of the most notable Dora Milaje members.

Florence Kasumba portrays Ayo.

Ayo (Florence Kasumba) will reprise her role from the “Falcon and the Winter Soldier” trilogy in “Wakanda Forever.”

Everett Ross is a CIA spy and the royal family of Wakanda’s ally.

Ross is fatally shot in “Black Panther” while shielding Nakia. T’Challa chooses to transport him to Wakanda in order for Shuri to save his life.

Ross is possibly the most knowledgeable CIA agent regarding Wakanda, and he owes Shuri and T’Challa his life for protecting it.

T’Challa, Shuri, Ramonda, and Nakia wear Kimoyo bead bracelets, as do other Wakandans.

Chadwick Boseman and Daniel Kaluuya in “Black Panther” utilize their Kimoyo beads to converse with Okoye.
