Bannon’s DC home is surrounded by police, firefighters, and medics

Steve Bannon’s million-dollar house in Washington, DC, was vandalised on Thursday for the second time in two months.

At 7:17 p.m. local time, police in the nation’s capital were summoned to a residence in the 200 block of A Street NE, according to a statement sent to DailyMail.com by police.

Further investigation, according to the police, established that no bullets were fired and that there was no active danger. The swatting did not result in any injuries.

Aside from the police, ambulances and the fire department were also sent to the house.

Bannon has been contacted by DailyMail.com for comment on the occurrence.

Bannon, 68, made the absurd suggestion that Trump be “reinstated” as president this week when speaking with Rudy Giuliani on the latter’s War Room podcast.

We don’t need another presidential election, according to Bannon. A contingent election is the term used. This week, let’s begin the contingent election. Let’s do it. There need to be new elections.

Bannon backed controversial Congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene as the future speaker of the House on Saturday, while delivering a speech with Mike Lindell at a gathering in Missouri.

His remarks followed Trump’s assertions that he ought to be re-elected and a new election called in light of the revelation that Facebook had censored the notorious New York Post Hunter Biden laptop story.

Bannon, 68, made the absurd suggestion that Trump be “reinstated” as president this week when speaking with Rudy Giuliani on the latter’s War Room podcast.

The former White House Chief strategist is not thought to have been at home when police raided the house in July, according to reports.

Later, he was spotted accompanying police as they up the stairs of the $2.35 million rowhouse and assured media that they had “been amazing.”

When they arrived to the structure, police were pursuing a guy with a “high powered rifle” who was threatening to “kill everyone.”

It was said to have originated from a tip in a purported “swatting” effort, in which someone calls the police on a fictitious complaint.

Near Bannon’s residence, there were several police officers seen on the nearby streets.

The route, which lies close to the Capitol and the Supreme Court building, was closed for about an hour.

Later, Bannon, who has resided in his three-story house for the last five years, was spotted ascending the stairs and gushing about how great the cops were.

Police reopened the streets about 12:30 p.m. after confirming that there had been no gunshot, no weapon was there, there was no danger, and there had been no casualty.

It happened at the same time that Bannon’s attorney filed a motion on Friday to cease defending the strategist to former President Donald Trump in his criminal contempt case, citing the prospect of being summoned as a witness.

Due to his refusal to comply with a subpoena issued by a House of Representatives committee looking into the assault on the U.S. Capitol by Trump supporters on January 6, 2021, Bannon was charged with two counts of contempt of Congress last year.

Bannon has declined to produce evidence or papers, claiming Trump’s assertion that the information is protected by a legal principle known as presidential privilege, which has been rejected by previous courts.

Bannon, who has pleaded innocent, has so far been unsuccessful in trying to get his July 18 trial cancelled or postponed. A hearing in the matter has been set for Monday by U.S. District Judge Carl Nichols.

The “advice of counsel” defence, which Bannon attempted to use to convince the jury that he ignored the congressional subpoena, was rejected by the court in April.

In a court document filed on Friday, Bannon’s attorney, Robert Costello, claimed that he was “Bannon’s sole source of information about the facts and the law pertaining to this matter” and that, while he could represent Bannon before the trial, it was less clear that he could do so once the trial had started.

Robert Costello filed a motion to resign as trial counsel with the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia, stating, “Since it looks there will be a trial, and since it appears at this stage that I could be called as a witness, I must regrettably ask the Court to approve my request.”

Bannon, a well-known personality in right-wing media, helped Trump win the presidency in 2016 and was the White House’s top strategist in 2017.

In 2020, he was also accused of planning to deceive contributors as part of a private fundraising effort that promised to construct Trump’s wall along the border with Mexico. After receiving a pardon from Trump during his last hours in office in January 2021, his lawsuit was dismissed.

Trump’s son-in-law Jared Kushner said in his book, Breaking History: A White House Memoir, that he informed the president that he supported pardoning Bannon, who was accused of committing fraud in connection with a plot to gather private cash for a border wall.

The president was informed by Kushner that “Steve was tremendously detrimental to your first year in office, but he was there for you on the first campaign when few were,” the author wrote.

In the extracts, which were made available to DailyMail.com, Kushner refers to Bannon as a “toxic” presence in the White House and discusses his upcoming book, Breaking History: A White House Memoir, which will be published next month.

Bannon developed into a disproportionate presence in the Trump administration, where he acted as chief strategist with a broad range of responsibilities, maintained a white board with Trump campaign pledges, and engaged in combat with those he considered as “globalists” and “swamp animals.”

The president’s Council of Economic Advisors head, Gary Kohn, once went to Kushner for assistance because “Bannon is leaking on me continuously.” This won’t be taken by me. I am a skilled dirty fighter.

Kushner approached Bannon about the issue personally, but he later said he ought to have remained out of it.

“Steve, you need to quit talking dirty about Gary.” We’re trying to put a team together here,” he allegedly told Kushner.

According to Kushner, Cohn was the one who leaked information on Bannon.

Kushner writes that Bannon’s eyes were “intense” and his voice was “escalating into a shout,” adding, “Jared, right now, you’re the one sabotaging the president’s agenda.”

“And if you rebel against me, I’ll sever your body in two.” Bannon commanded him, “Don’t f***with me.”
