Ally Langdon attacks Meghan Markle

While one Australian TV personality scoffed at Meghan Markle’s new podcast, Ally Langdon hinted that despite her best efforts, “there’s just something” that makes her uncomfortable.

Anika Wells, Australia’s minister for sport and elderly care, and the Today Show presenter spoke about Markle’s new Archetypes podcast on Tuesday morning.

Peter Ford, an entertainment reporter for Channel Nine, also commented on her new endeavour in a separate tweet, claiming that it was “simply another way she can brag about herself.”

I genuinely try to admire Meghan Markle, and some of the points she makes about ambition strike me as being really valid, but there’s just something, you know?, Langdon remarked.

The term of ambition “comes with many judgments and subtleties – particularly for women,” Markle lamented on her podcast, adding that “if you’re an ambitious woman you have an agenda, you must be calculated or selfish or pushy, or a climber.”

Langdon made the remarks after a clip from the podcast appeared on the Today Show, in which Meghan described her annoyance at having to attend yet another formal event just after Archie nearly averted a fire in his bedroom when the Sussexes were touring South Africa.

Fortunately, four-and-a-half-month-old Archie was downstairs with his nanny when the drama began when a heater in Archie’s bedroom caught fire and set the nursery on fire. His nanny had left “to get a snack,” but she had really gone “to get a snack.”

But Meghan acknowledged the strain the situation put on her as a new mother, saying on the podcast: “In that moment that [the nanny] walked downstairs, the heater in the nursery caught fire.” Smoke detectors were not present.

When I was making my speech to ladies and girls, I was standing on a tree stump. After the engagement, we got in the vehicle, and they told us that the house had caught fire. What? The baby’s room has caught fire, Markle added.

“We returned. Naturally, as a mother, you think, “Oh, my God, what?” Everyone is in tears and is distraught. What must we do, then? do another formal engagement while you’re out? This doesn’t make any sense, I said.

When discussing the video, Langdon noted that Markle “split opinion” often.

Markle “could have pushed harder” to be with her son and bring him to the second public appearance, according to Ms. Wells, who agreed with Markle.

The minister replied, “In the end, I believe she should have pushed on and battled more.”

She had to have just brought the infant, stated her point, and spoken out.

Because in the end, honesty in public life is what everyone wants, and if that entails being open about one’s caring obligations, better public policy will result.

The House of Representatives has “quite severe regulations” regarding what you may bring inside, with even bringing a coffee being frowned upon, Ms. Wells said, recalling a time when she had to bring her twin twins there.

The support I received for it truly shocked and pleased me, she said. “I was genuinely worried about it but I had to do it,” she added.

Markle hinted that she planned to deliver more “truth-bombs” about the Royal Family on her upcoming podcast by saying that she would “be herself and speak and be uncensored.”

After Markle and Prince Harry resigned from their royal responsibilities and inked a lucrative agreement with Spotify reported to be worth over $30,805 million, the show took two years to get off the ground.

People should anticipate seeing “the real me in this and possibly the me that they’ve never gotten to know,” the duchess remarked.

Certainly not in recent years, when everything is seen via the media’s lens rather than saying, “Hey, it’s me,” she said. It’s great, and I’m simply happy to be myself, chat, and be uncensored.

It follows a lengthy chat on the new episode with her close friend, US tennis legend Serena Williams, in which the former Suits actress also criticised people who called her “ambitious” when she began dating Prince Harry.

The podcast will be released before the duke and duchess go to Germany after their return to the UK for engagements in Manchester and London next month.

Meghan also said that “apparently ambition is a bad, awful thing – for a woman that is, according to some.” Meghan and Harry now reside in California with their two children after ceasing to be senior working royals at the beginning of 2020.
