After a vehicle pursuit through south London, armed police shot a guy in his 30s, who was then evacuated to the hospital.

Just before 10 o’clock yesterday night, police started after the suspect in the Lambeth neighborhood of London, but they had to pursue him two miles further south.

Armed police used a second car to slow down the speeding automobile in Kirkstall Gardens, Streatham Hill, and opened fire on the suspect when they came into touch with him.

Witnesses claimed to have heard two distinct gunshot.

A Met police spokesperson said officers administered first aid after incapacitating the suspect, who was later taken to hospital by London’s Air Ambulance service to undergo treatment.

Streatham Hill residents meanwhile claimed officers performed CPR on the suspect after shooting him. His current condition is unknown.

‘I and many other neighbours heard 2 gunshots,’ one social media user posted.

‘Have also heard reports from neighbours who say they saw police stop a car and shoot a man. They then performed CPR on him before taking him away. Lots of armed police and helicopter.’

Another user added: ‘Police stopped a car and shot a man. Looked like a planned operation with a car behind and a car in front.

‘They seem to have taken one man off to hospital. He looked to be in a bad way. We’re all pretty shaken up as we heard the gun very clearly.’

A Met police spokesperson said: ‘London Ambulance Service and London’s Air Ambulance were requested.

‘Officers administered first aid prior to their arrival and the man was taken to hospital, where he remains. We await an assessment of his condition.

‘No other injuries have been reported. Cordons and road closures are in place.’

It is unclear why the suspect was fleeing from the police and why armed officers were dispatched to the scene.

The Met Police has been contacted for further comment.
