According to reports, Bam Margera has pneumonia and has been placed on a ventilator

According to reports, Bam Margera was hospitalized with pneumonia and a positive COVID-19 test.

TMZ reports that the “Jackass” alum is being treated in an intensive care unit in San Diego, California, where doctors have placed him on a ventilator.

Friday’s news said that the former professional skateboarder, who has been hospitalized since earlier this week, is currently in stable health.

The stunt performer has had a turbulent year, attempting many times between June and September to flee rehab clinics.

The “Viva La Bam” alum’s brother, Jess Margera, and mother, April Margera, addressed Bam’s condition on Instagram in August after he was appointed a temporary healthcare guardian.

According to TMZ, the “Jackass” alum also tested positive for COVID.

The duo noted at the time, “It’s no secret that Bam has suffered with mental health and addiction.” You have supported Bam through his ups and downs as he grew up.

“Although we like sharing our lives with you, there are certain matters that must be handled confidentially, including treatment,” the statement said. “Recovery is difficult, and it is considerably more difficult while under public scrutiny.”

Bam’s family members refuted the “Free Bam” movement and clarified that their relative was not “under conservatorship.”

The social media post added, “We ask that you support Bam in his rehabilitation, encourage him to stay on track, and wish him well in his sobriety.”

Bam, who has been in and out of treatment this year, and Nicole Boyd have a son named Phoenix.

For years, the former reality star has struggled with substance abuse.

In October, Steve-O told Jim Norton that he will “never give up” on his former co-star, stating, “I’ve been physically present at nearly every stop on his years-long tour of rehabs and psychiatric hospitals.”

Nicole Boyd is married to Bam, who previously disclosed to his Instagram followers that he was diagnosed with manic-bipolar condition.

The couple wed in June 2017, and Phoenix was born three months later. In September 2021, the 38-year-old model filed for exclusive custody of the 4-year-old child.
