A multiple-vehicle collision in Pinehaven has left two dead and three injured

Due to an accident involving two trucks and two light cars at the crossroads of the N14 and R28 in Pinehaven, Gauteng, two persons died and three others were injured.

The disaster occurred in the morning of Friday, October 7, 2022.

According to reports, ER24 and numerous other agencies arrived on the site soon before 07:00 to found four crashed automobiles in the middle of the road and scattered debris.

Local officials started closing the road and redirecting traffic as medical personnel attended to the victims.

According to the emergency service ER24, upon closer investigation, medical personnel discovered a woman stuck in a light motor vehicle and a man trapped in a truck.

Three other people were reportedly lying near the automobiles involved in the crash. Upon evaluating the victims, medical personnel determined that one man had already died because of his multiple injuries, while two others were in serious condition.

ER24: “Rescue Services had to use specialised equipment to free the patients from the truck and car. Once released, medics treated the patients and provided them with advanced life support interventions.

“Once the patients were stabilised, the critically injured woman was airlifted by a private medical helicopter to a nearby hospital while the other patients were transported by ambulance. Unfortunately, on route to the hospital, the critically injured woman succumbed to her injuries.”

According to reports, local officials were on the site conducting additional investigations.

In a separate event on Thursday, 6 October, two individuals were murdered and a third was gravely wounded when two light cars collided head-on on the N12 in Fochville.

At 11:05, ER24 and other services reportedly arrived to discover two cars blocking the road.

ER24: “On closer inspection, medics found three men lying inside one vehicle while the driver of the second vehicle was walking around the scene. Medics assessed the patients inside the car and found that two men had sustained fatal injuries while the third was in critical condition. The man walking around was found with minor injuries.

“The patients were treated, and the critically injured were provided with advanced life support. Once treated, the critically injured man was airlifted by a private medical helicopter to a nearby hospital while the remaining patient was transported by ambulance.”
