A group of between 30 and 40 people shot fireworks at police cars in Chicago

Unsettling video shows a group of criminals in Chicago throwing pyrotechnics at police cars and hitting one of the cars after police tried to stop them from engaging in illegal street racing in the city’s once-famous Loop neighbourhood.

In the wee hours of Monday, it was possible to witness the vandals fire indiscriminately at the police patrol cars.

Approximately 30 to 40 people started making angry gestures toward the police officers who were seated in their patrol cars, many of whom were also pulling out their phones.

At that point, several people were observed striking and kicking the front of the rescue vehicles.

The car’s grille, hood, and headlights were all left dented or broken.

The CPD vehicle’s hood is struck by a firework at the two-minute mark of the film because it was unable to manoeuver out of the way during the attack on Columbus and Wacker Street.

Significant damage was done to the police car, including cracked headlights, a shattered windshield, and hood damage.

Officers remained inside as they made an effort to turn around and avoid harm.

Due to complaints that some civilian cars were doing donuts in the middle of a junction, the police were called to the scene.

Police have not made any arrests, and there have been no reported injuries.

A high-powered rifle-wielding attacker opened fire on police cars mere hours later, killing at least six people at a parade celebrating Independence Day in an affluent Chicago suburb.

Around twenty individuals, including children, were injured, with some in severe condition, according to emergency personnel in Highland Park.

The shooter, who remained at large, was the target of a huge police manhunt.

Police announced that they had located a suspect named Robert E. Crimo III, 22, and warned that he was’very dangerous’ and ‘armed.

The shooter opened fire on the holiday gathering from a nearby rooftop, igniting pandemonium as terrified spectators fled for their lives and leaving behind a parade route littered with chairs, abandoned balloons, and personal items.
