63years old British female scuba diver dies while swimming off the coast of Tenerife

Off the coast of Tenerife, a British woman who was scuba diving perished.

In addition to stating that an investigation into the death of the 63-year-old was ongoing, police on the island today also revealed her nationality.

It wasn’t immediately obvious if she was visiting or a local.

The incident happened on Saturday at 11 a.m. off a beach in the Fasnia municipality in eastern Tenerife.

During the weekend, the woman’s nationality was still unknown.

‘We received an alert that a female scuba diver had been hauled out of the sea and needed medical treatment following a dive,’ a spokesperson for a government-run regional emergency response center said.

Another scuba diver who claimed to be a doctor revealed that she had experienced cardiac arrest and that he had started CPR.

When emergency personnel came, they attempted to revive her but were unsuccessful. As a result, she was declared dead at the site.

Currently, a court is working with the Civil Guard to coordinate a standard investigation into the occurrence.

No suspicious circumstances surrounding the woman’s death were immediately reported.

On nearby Lanzarote, a British diver passed away in November.

According to reports, the 60-year-old had a heart arrest in the island’s southern Playa Flamingo.

As the unidentified British man began to have problems, a lifeguard is believed to have attempted to help him but was helpless to save his life.

“He had all the right permissions to be able to dive,” stated Enrique Espinosa, manager of the Security and Emergency Consortium of Lanzarote, at the time. “But, diving is a high-risk sport, and anything that goes wrong can be fatal.”

“After arriving, he suffered a heart arrest, and efforts to revive him were fruitless.”

The British guy, according to police sources, had “health concerns.”

A British man lost his life in a diving accident in February 2019 off the coast of Tenerife, where he was celebrating his 32nd wedding anniversary with wife Lesley.

Andrew Littler, a resident of Coalville, Leicester, was declared dead after the alarm was raised when he suffered a heart arrest on a dock in the sleepy tourist town of Abades in the island’s southeast. Attempts to revive him had been futile.

Friends started a GoFundMe campaign to help repatriate the transporter driver’s body, which is how word of the tragedy spread.
