Friday afternoon, the catastrophe occurred on the little lake of Schwendisee in St. Gallen Canton, northeastern Switzerland.

First responders began resuscitating the man on the wooden platform, and an emergency medical technician was dropped from an air ambulance to assist.

Despite their best attempts, the 43-year-old could not be revived.

In a statement acquired by Newsflash, the St. Gallen Cantonal Police stated, ‘On Friday (26-08-2022), shortly before 5.15 p.m., the St. Gallen cantonal emergency contact centre received a report of a swimming accident at Vorderer Schwendisee.

Despite the prompt arrival of emergency personnel, a 43-year-old British national perished on the scene.

Third parties notified the cantonal emergency contact center of a swimming accident.

A male had difficulty swimming towards the float and was revived by lifeguards on the raft.

Friday afternoon, the catastrophe occurred on the little lake of Schwendisee in St. Gallen Canton, northeastern Switzerland.

‘The emergency physician from the AP3 air rescue team was immediately placed onto the float and continued CPR. Sadly, this had to be canceled, and the 43-year-old British man died instantly.

In addition to multiple patrols by the canton police of St. Gallen, the AP3 air rescue service, the local fire department, a rescue specialist, and a care team were also dispatched.

Under the supervision of the public prosecutor’s office of the Canton of St. Gallen, the accident’s precise path is being elucidated.

The victim’s identity was not disclosed.
